"We are still negotiating the Mosley fight. We are having some every good discussions which is definitely a breath of fresh air. We're looking at a couple of dates in early May. Obviously we want to allow ourselves enough time to properly promote this mega, mega fight. This is a fight that fans have been talking about for ten years. Floyd has wanted this fight for over ten years," "Shane is a tremendous fighter and this is what these marquee matchups are all about. Shane Mosley thinks he's the best welterweight in the world. Floyd Mayweather knows he's the best fighter in the world. Both sides are working very hard to try to get it done and obviously with this being a big mega fight, there are a lot of particulars involved and these deals are not finalized overnight," Hopefullly they learned their lesson and nothing is announced until the contracts are signed.
If FLoyd wanted this fight for the longest time why the **** did he retire and then when he came back he fought a fat lightweight? Mosley didn't even have any fights in between that. Why not chase Mosley who hasn't fought for awhile and come back to fight a fat lightweight?
I hope this fight gets signed and delivered. Just imagine the ramifications if this fight doesn't happen.
perhaps he wanted to get a warm up fight in before fighting the WW champ, after being out of the ring for almost 2 years
I knew this would come up. And my answer was gonna be exactly what Luke posted. Wanted years ago is not the same as "has wanted it for years".
See, these are all talks for now. Just like what happend to with the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight. FLoyd made it seem like he wanted to fight Pacquiao but at the end he made so much ludicrous demands. I wonder what demands will Floyd come up this time? 90-10 purse in favor of Floyd or no fight? LOL
It's interesting how Mayweather haters and Pacquiao "fans" were the first to respond to this thread. Maybe a few days ago, I said if they fight and Mayweather wins, idiots will say Mosley was too old. We didn't even have to wait that long. The funniest part is these are the same "men" that said Floyd wouldn't fight him because he was a real threat.
