For the love of god, don't go from fighting bums to fighting Loma. You need some tune ups at 135 against decent opposition before going in there with a monster like Loma. And b4 you clowns say ducking or whatever, you guys are cool with Usyk fighting Reese Witherspoon in his HW debut, and ****ing Chisora after, so Tank should get some tune ups at 135.

The Reese Witherspoon point point is fair. I have no problems with tune-up fights provided they actually serve that purpose and a legitimate test opponent is chosen, not someone who will fold in the wind like Rocky Fielding (granted, he was a belt holder)

@ellerbe You are a smart man! I can see Tank giving Loma a very hard time, but it has to be the best Tank and if that is to be then Tank must absolutely step up the competition. If he is moving to 135 then he should even race Devin Haney to get the fight made with Luke Campbell. That would be good experience for fighting a bigger boxer and preparing for Loma.

Maybe 1 or 2 bum fights at 135 to settle in then step up to the top 5 level and get Loma in the ring. I would very much like to see that.

Usyk was set to fight Takam and then Spong for his debut. Witherspoon was not planned. At that point just getting in the ring and fighting this year was the goal. Sure... Davis testing the waters against a fringe contender or two wouldn't be the worst thing. Not over a period of 2-3 years though.

 good post, I like Campbell, but Haney and Tank would put a beating on him.

Floyd ain't letting Tank near Lomachenko until Lomachenko 1) brutally gets KO'd, but no less than 3-5 years after that or 2) Lomachenko is 40.

    It's the Mayweather blueprint.

Tank's career post-Pedraza is one big tune up. Didn't he say he wants to fight Santa Cruz after Gamboa?

Tank only fights tune-ups. He calls out big names like Loma and Taylor but fights cans and no hopers. It’s his style and I don’t see it changing any time soon. Tank is a punk with a big mouth outside the ring. A twitter warrior who has already lost a belt on the scale. I’d like to see him fight a guy like Campbell or even Teo or Haney. Look for him to fight a small slow guy after the Gamboa fight.

Gamboa is shot and will be an easy win for Tank. Another meaningless fight but his fans will go crazy as usual. Until he fights a real opponent, my opinion will not change. Just another punk with a big mouth.
