Sky Sports Action in the UK is supposed to be carrying this, but it is being preempted by American fucking football running overlong. :shakehead:

Even on the British airwaves, I can't escape this crap.

El Cugar roughing up the boricuan journeyman, nothing fancy, and the commentators are right - he isn't a big puncher, just a volume grinder in the classic Mexican mold.

    10-9 Curiel

"If he didn't see anything special in this kid, Freddie Roach wouldn't be wasting his time..."

I mean... he's a character and ranks among the great trainers of his era, but... Freddie ain't exactly Nacho. He never has been terribly picky about those he chooses to coach. Wasn't he training Charlie Zelenoff at one point or was that just a rumor?

Ramos having a much better second round, dominant in the beginning and end swarming in with quick hooks that shut Curiel down offensively, but the minute in the middle is dominated by Curiel's body shots as Ramos took his breather.

    10-9 Ramos, close

    19-19

29-28 Curiel, starting to really damage Ramos with his body shots and bring his guard down. Ramos getting buzzed when that happens with fat hooks & uppercuts but Curiel is just heavy-handed enough to hurt, not put away Ramos with any single blast (and is too slow to follow up on anything before Ramos can backpedal to safety)

I predict Curiel will force his way to an ugly stoppage in about 2-3 more rounds.

    39-37 Curiel, just chipping away.

Ramos goes down. He makes it back up at 10, the ref waves it.

    Curiel wins by TKO.7
