I don't think he was questioning the "attempted" part, but the 2nd-degree. The answer is because killing in the act of robbing is generally not assumed to be premeditated (thus qualifying as 1st degree murder in the interpretation of the law) even though it very well could be. The definitions are imperfect, but they are what they are.
The suspect look like a boxer. Is the motive robbery or it has something to do with boxing ? The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of Louisiana Avenue, just blocks away from BREC's North 14th Street Boxing Facility in Baton Rouge. Augustus was known to train at the facility sometimes, according to reports.
I sincerely hope boxing fans friends of the drunken master find this cretin first and make him pay dearly for his cowardly crime
He was the first ‘journeyman’ I’d seen (or remembered) and they’re the heart and soul of the sport. That was what made me a full time follower. He wasn’t the best but this guy was in there having fun. He chose one of the most demanding, dangerous and potentially devestating paths you can take in life and he let you forget all that as a spectator and just enjoy the sport because it seemed like he enjoyed it. Without that type of love guys like Burton bring to boxing – removed from the money, belts and press conferences – it’s a bleak and brutal place, not one I would visit very often.
Years ago when I was in my prime lol A guy attacked & raped a 15 yr old girl tried top kill her beat her so bad she barely survived . She is permanently disabled afraid to even leave the house. Well the police were looking for the coward responsible but so were friends of the girls family. The friends got to him first & believe me he got what he deserved. He ended up beaten to a pulp & certainly not capable of ever raping again. He lives a miserable life, if he's still alive, certainly regretting what he did. I wasn't personally involved in his treatment but if I'd been there I know IU would havegiven the coward a lick or two
Your research is flawed! even though the untied states has the most gun owned by its citizen. that does not equate in the number of death by guns. http://crimepreventionresearchcenter.org/2014/03/comparing-murder-rates-across-countries/
According to the police report, this was a completely random shooting. The perp was having an argument with a relative and things got heated, so he decided to shoot his gun out of his car window in no particular direction and purely out of frustration. One of the stray bullets struck Augustus. Absolutely senseless.
Sure. There was no evidence of a robbery - Augustus still had all of his stuff on him, and the police have yet to establish any connection between them. Maybe that will change, but they're usually pretty quick to establish motive in cases like this.
Guns wont protect you from chemical weapons. People think guns can protect them when it's really no better than throwing rocks at tanks.
Then why are they so hell bent in confiscating them ? :deal And what's your solution ? Relinquish your guns, then write to your congressman ? :think
