This **** is too funny. He literally starts dancing and fighting at the same time. The second fight it shows is of his fight with Burton. Watch Burton rabbit punch him in the head at least 3 times, the ref breaks them up, and then looks at Augustus like he did something wrong. [yt]n6z2UE0hdT8[/yt]
He knocked Burton out in 8 in their rematch. Truth be told, he could've probably had Burton out in their first fight had he really pressed for the stoppage or had the ref not called his knockdown punches low-blows and given Burton a rest period. He also had Burton going pretty badly a couple times during the 10th round. Another classic Augustus fight is the Tomas Barrientes match. Again, Augustus was called in to face a local favorite in that opponent's backyard. Again, Augustus was easily outboxing the local favorite and doing his crazy dancing/showboating moves in the process. Again, a deeply biased referee started apparently warning him for fighting strangely and being showy. Augustus eventually got really annoyed and started verbally arguing with the ref and gesturing to the crowd for support, at which time the referee saw fit to disqualify him.
emaneul will capture the imagination to anyone who even has a ten second glimpse of him fighting. but behind his world class gifts hides certain weeknesses, emanuel will go defensive in long periods choosing often to make the fight exiting over winning the fight. he is much better then his record suggests, i cant say he beat all the fighters he lost to be he does have controversial decisions against key fighters such as teddy reid, mickey ward, leavander johnson and antonio diaz. i think if he could have been a title holder despite a spotty record like drayton, seabrooks, smith and pendelton.
He got robbed quite a few times, and is/was entertaining to watch. He's got real skills - it's a shame he, in a way, wasted them. Anyone have a link to the infamous "double punch"? :good
