Love it the long count the referee saved Navarrete.

Too much whining as usual from fellow-ESBers.

It was a good fight, props to both combatants.

Liam Wilson vs Oscar Valdez anyone?

Would also love to see Stevens/Navarrete down the line.

Nice when you can get knocked down and get a 30 count. This stuff has to stop. Don't dance the tango with the guy who gets up, if he spits his mouthpiece out make him finish the round without it. Wipe the gloves and continue. Wilson was jobbed of a chance for a huge win.

Navarrete fought in a completely defensively irresponsible manner. He got caught by counter hooks all the time because of that. He didn't give a flying **** about defense while he was attacking, ridiculous.

I dont like to watch fighters showing so much irresponsibility while fighting.

A very entertaining fight, though. I liked it a lot.

What did you think of Wilson hitting Navarrete when he was down right before the count?

Too much drama because of the long count. The long count exists, obviously, but when navarrete went down there were 50 seconds left. Wilson had 25 seconds to finish him, though. But the funny thing is that wilson didnt connect one single freaking punch during this time, NONE. Wilson's killer instinct is non-existant, that count was long, but unnecessary too, he would have survived anyway, EASILY.

Plus navarrete going to the ground is the result of 3 rabit punches in a row after he got hurt by a legit punch, plus a fourth punch when navarrete already had his hand on the ground.

Nah, there's not material for good and big drama here, tbh.

No it didn't. The ref counted a reasonable time, Navarrete got up and the ref asked him to step forward like they always do. Navarrete then spat out his mouthpiece apparently on purpose. The ref picked it off the canvas AND STUCK IT RIGHT IN NAVARRETES MOUTH. He could have asked the corner to wash it off but he did not do so.

It was Navarrete and not the ref who spat out the mouthpiece and it was Navarrete who complained it was upside down in his mouth. The boxer messed around with time and not the ref.

Wilson's power is legit and that can be the foundation to build on, provided that he takes a step back to work on his craft and rebuild his career.

His defense obviously requires improvement, and he lacks the finishing skils of a polished, seasoned pro. The kid would profit from an extended stay in the States for some elite level training and sparring.
