    Round 12

Navarrete is now sort of feinting with the jab (sort of, kind of limp-lurching in with it held up in a jousting motion, then letting it flop to his side before revealing his true intentions with the still somehow telegraphed overhand right) and loading up whenever they punch their way in close with big right uppercuts and left hooks, but nothing quite hits paydirt as Villa braces himself with a glove on Navarrete's shoulder and turns him away, or ducks and spins himself out. HUGE uppercuts by Navarrete barging in, knowing if any of them lands he will get the deal-sealing third knockdown if not the KO. Villa is able to repel all of these with chaff grenade jabs and combos and some constant movement.

    10-9 Villa, close

    113-113

I despise Andre Ward. For such a "boxing genius." He has no idea what he's watching.

    115-111 Navarette.

RV4 did well to recover from a pretty horrid start to come back and make it respectable on my card.

115-111 for Navarrete, and I think my scoring was slightly generous to Villa. I bet one judge will have a shutout.

I can't believe that went the distance.

Pretty solid scores, really. The two KD's made the difference in the end.
