I think this would be an exciting clash of styles and they should make this fight happen in the future. Joe Cordina is skillful but also not afraid to mix it up and Navarrete’s aggressive style would surely make this highly entertaining. Who wins this?
Bump. If Navarrete beats Coceiceo I would love to see a title match up between him and Cordina next. I think that would be a very competitive and entertaining fight.
I follow Cordina for years and I like his boxing style a lot. A great fighter. That said, Emanuel would walk through him like a knife cutting butter. Navarrete is a level above Joe, in my opinion.
I favor Navarrete myself but then you have to remember his fight against Liam Wilson where he got badly hurt. Cordina would be capable of troubling Navarrete as well.
If its in the Monte Carlo casino with judges having a supply of erasers, the curiously monickered “Welsh Wizzard” is a dead cert!
While I think Cordina is better than what he displayed against Vazquez, I don't think he has enough power to dissuade Navarette or enough guile/craft to outbox him over the course of twelve rounds. Cordina sees the final bell, but Navarette wins 116-112ish kind of decision.
I agree that Navarette won't simply walk through Cordina. I think, however, that Wilson hits by some measure harder than the Brit, and as a result may actually pose more of a threat to Navarette (even though Wilson is less skilled and refined overall).
Lets see him against Conceicao first. Last time he was in with a skilled technician in Villa, he struggled
