Truth is he won over all of them. No reason to bother with fantasy outcomes. Emmanuel Steward is just saying like it is, I see little point in trying to question it. :deal

 

Almost as ridiculous a post as the "Calzaghe's the greatest ever" ones.

Joe was top drawer. Very unconventional and hard to figure out. It's simple, but if you can take a punch and throw 1000 punches per fight, you're quite hard to beat on the current scoring system.

No blame game but we never really got to see Joe fight a true prime elite which is why there will always be debate. Having said that the version of Hopkins he beat was still very very good.

 

is this all u do with your life, big up Calzaghe because if your not Calzaghe himself, you seriously need to get a life. yes he was a good fighter but the fact u need to remind everyone ALL the time, just proves that he wasn't that great. obsessing about 1 person/fighter that much is just weird and u seriously need to get out more. everyone has their favorites but your just creepy.

As for Starie and Salem they were sloppy performances but lets not try and rewrite history. Calzaghe was not given fits and bar a KD against Salem where he got straight back up, was never losing either of those fights. Calzaghe was a wide winner in both.

 

Calzaghe threw more punches and landed more.Ive scored that fight 5 times and each time i have Calzaghe he winner.

 

I rewatched that awful fight again, just a few days ago and decided to score every round that could be close to Hopkins even if they were rounds I thought Calzaghe won on first reflection.
Upon this watch I rescored the fight and still saw Calzaghe as a winner, by a point.

I struggle to see how anyone could see Hopkins a winner. I thought some of those rounds I scored for Hopkins here to be Calzaghe rounds but gave them to Hopkins here to look at different perspectives

Go back and watch the fight again - Reid didnt win a round till the 5th , try and score the fight without your " I hate calzahge " glasses on.

I never was a fan of Calzaghe.

But the truth is that he was 46-0.

He was WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, Ring Magazine Super-Middleweight champion.

He was only one of three boxers in history to retire having been undisputed AND undefeated world champion.

He did go UP in weight and go to the United States to fight Roy Jones JR and Bernard Hopkins. Something he really didn't have to do.

The only times Roy Jones left the United States, he lost...... twice.
The only times Bernard Hopkins left the United States, he struggled against Anibal Miranda. Then drew with Segundo Mercado in Ecaudor.

Fighting away from home isn't easy. Mike Tyson was invincible before he got knocked out in Japan.

Probably the greatest thing Ali did was fight George Foreman in Africa.

American fighters can stay in America and be called an all-time great. Yet Joe constantly gets that thrown in his face for staying in the UK.

 

I think Wlad must have hit Manny back once, when he was pounding on him to press for the KO.
This doesn't make sense at all, he should get his marbles checked... I think Joe is certainly underrated, but the GOAT? NO F#CKING WAY!

at the time Lacey was a good fighter, he just wasnt much of a man. Fighters take their first loss in different ways. look at pavlik, taylor and hamed... then look at khan, pacquiao and jones. It ruins some people and makes others :good
