Legendary trainer and HBO-commentator, Emanuel Steward gives his thoughts on Kessler vs. Calzaghe here: http://jp.dk/sport/kessler-calzaghe/article1148575.ece He gives the Dane a great chance to succeed in Cardiff. Kessler matches Calzaghe on fields, where Calzaghe is used to have big advantages, says Steward. Kessler will be stronger and in better condition and shape than lots of others that fought Calzaghe in a long time. Steward also says, that Jeff Lacy was a bit overhyped by americans. So don't put too much in on Calzaghes win against him. Kessler is not appreciated enough in the States, according to Steward. But Emanuel is very impressed with Kesslers style in the ring. Kessler could be the man to stop Calzaghes reign, says Steward. He also says, that it will be a fantastic fight and he disses the tendancy in the States, where people only focuses on their own fighters and don't look for the best in the rest of the world. Kessler and Calzaghe are among the best in the sport, Steward says. Wow, I like the thoughts from the expert :happy
Yup it's gonna be good and this is a 50/50 fight. And I couldn't agree more on ES saying that US tends only to mind their own fighters. :good
i didn't realize how similar danish and english are, I could follow about half of what that website said without knowing a word in danish
Nostradamus Steward is a joke, he always sits on the fence and doesn't commit to a pick before the fight....then during or after the fight he says he knew it was gonna go that way. It's laughable. From now I'm gonna call him 'Nostradamus'. He's a joke of a summariser.
The two languages influenced each other quite a lot when the vikings occupied Great Britain - so most basic words are pretty much the same, plus both uses a lot of words who are orignally latin.
I'm surprised he didn't spout something like "Kessler is a great fighter with a magnificent jab, but he needs to learn to GRAB if he wants to win fights! Who needs infighting!?"
In the 11th round Kessler slips on a patch on the canvas near his corner which had gotten wet and injures his knee unable to continue Steward: this is exactly how I saw it comming , I sensed from the first bell that there was some moisture in the corner and the problem escalated from there . Before the fight I just saw that Calzaghe was going to back Kessler up into that hazardous area , which I thought would materialise as Kessler's corner often gets very wet . Lampley: Thanks Emmanuel , and now to Michael Buffer to make it official .
