Since when? :huh Apparently he is running the show tonight in a suburb of Detroit, headlined by his prize middleweight Andy Lee (in a mismatch against either Alexis "The Hurricane Hloros or the equally hopeless Alexis Camacho...one replaced the other, but it's unclear which...not that it matters...) under the aegis of "Kronk Promotions". Anyway, Steward is obviously not breaking the budget for this - just keeping Irish Andy busy and rust-free in case a proposed deal is solidified with JCC Jr. for June 2nd on HBO. There will be no television, nor any broadcast at all - online or otherwise. Results might not even become available until tomorrow. :conf Is the Manny of many hats planning on shifting his focus more into promotional side of the business (at the expense of his HBO WCB position, or his schedule as a coach of champions) or is this just a one-off to help Lee limber up? Has "Kronk Promotions" had any big shows before?
Two in the last thirty-two years, apparently. http://boxrec.com/list_shows.php?human_id=413702&cat=promoter
:rofl Watch Lee get sparked out by whichever Alexis he's using for a tune-up. A fuming and shamed Emanuel will quarantine the venue and dish out bribes to each audience member trying to keep a lid on the result getting out as long as possible; there won't be anything up on Boxrec until next Tuesday.
I am going to this fight tonight. And I am a huge Manny fan. But, I need to throw something out here. How many of you are familiar with the firewall clause in the Ali Act? You can read about it at the ABC of boxing website as well. If Manny is promoting this card, and he is managing Andy Lee. He will be breaking the laws of boxing and that firewall clause. But, if he drops the bout to 8 rounds, he is fully legal to do the card and both promote it and manage the fighters on it. This is the worst rule in boxing. I don't know how Manny is going to play it tonight but it could set up a legal showdown. 10-12 round fights are illegal to do like that. 4-8 are perfectly legal. Any fighter can promote himself and manage himself in 10-12 round fights. But, he does not have the right to hire a man to do those things for him. Even if he trusts the man with his life like Andy Lee does with Manny. This is a travesty and we as boxing people need to unite and overturn this. It is a huge factor in the death of rural boxing. And it is clearly a ******ed catch 22. Look up every law schools paper on the Ali Act and all of them will make note of this ridiculousness. Villanova, Ohio St., Brown and many others have great research papers out there on this subject. I will mention something to someone personally at the card tonight if he is scheduled for 10 rounds. They may not realize what they are doing. Or, I may be an idiot and Manny is not the named promoter. But I am interested to see what the set up really is.

Yeah, I don't know who manages him on paper or who the promoter is on paper. Manny knows his ****. If he was violating the law, he'd probably be doing it on purpose to take the ridiculousness on himself. That rule is a POS in the USA. No matter how this card is set up, we still need to remove that clause from the Ali Act.
