Valentino Manfredonia vs. Sokol Maja Arsić, 4 rounds @ light heavyweight

 

V-Man (born in Brazil, yet has lived in Naples since he was a toddler and represented Italy in the amateurs) is supposed to be a hot shot prospect, making his debut against some ho-hum Serb. Big opportunity here to showcase himself and build a name, featured halfway into a Matchroom/DAZN card.

 

I mean, he did lose to a few journeymen, but they were of that "solid UK journeymen/better than your average continental Euro plonker" stock.

 

Settle down, Manfredonia.... you still have three rounds and change left. You don't have to be swinging like it was the ninth inning with the bases loaded for walk-off grand slam.

 

Arsić seems to know at the very least how to block a (telegraphed) right hand, so he might stand a chance of surviving all four tonight..

Pretty quick feet, too, if we're being honest. If he tries any more of those very wide and sloppy looping lefts, though, Manfredonia could decapitate him.

Manfredonia is dancing in, as he did in the 1st, backhanding jabs off the lead hip into Arsić's waiting down-turned right palm, which comes timely descending to intercept like an espresso tamp. Manfredonia looking to line up Arsić for a big right cross, but is betraying his intentions, shuffling his feet slightly as he cranks himself up with a triple jab scurrying in. Manfredonia just a touch overly hyperactive, jittery, wasting motions. Arsić offering very little offense, just some chopping downward right hooks while bouncing on his toes moving counter-clockwise, missing by miles.
