I can only see the gif and it looks a little cringey.

might not look that bad if you've got nothing to compare it to, but that jones/rua promo has to be a 1000 times better than the fox one.

Its a sport where men climb into a cage and attempt to punch each other in the face until one of them is left laying unconscious and bloody
Lets not take ourselves too seriously here

    Welcome to 1994

Back here in 2011 I think that the two best HW athlete's who been training for years in''punching each other in the face'' deserve a bit more than being left looking like extra's from the Ringer in probably their career defining fight

But hey, it's combat sports right, let's play to the trailer park marry your cousin crowd :dead

Or we could go back to the '90's
When the heavyweight championship was contested in some random Nebraska farmhouse for a whopping $1000 purse and the only people who had ever even heard of MMA were internet nerds and rasslin tape traders searching out grainy footage of obscure European and Japanese tournaments
These people that MMA elitists hate so much are the very people that make it possible for them to watch live MMA every week and allow these fighters to train constantly and become elite athletes

Yes your right let's take a step back to ''the good ole days'' where MMA was banned in almost every state in the USA and wasnt taken seriously as a sport. Meanwhile in Japan, they appreciated the technical aspects of the ground game and striking and a guy like Sakuraba became a household name whilst back in the States fights were booed as soon as they hit the deck

Bring back Tank Abbot I say :dead

The PRIDE shows built a legacy of combining the brutal and the technical and many of the events are as rewatchable today as they ever were

Worked out well for the UFC as well as they were relying on Randy/Chuck/Tito & Hughes rematches to carry the card for US MMA in the same time frame until PRIDE's demise when they added the likes of Silva, Shogun, Rampage, Big Nog to their roster as well as having the monopoly of the young talent whilst established stars like Randy and BJ Penn were constantly jumping ship when there were other viable options

Nice to have owners with $50+ million to spare eh

Would have been easier if they had just followed the Pride example and recruited Bill Goldberg or Steve Austin, and fed them victories in worked matches whilst establishing the company.
