I'd say we are very similar if you catch my drift.

 

When you do get the chance be sure to make a few posts in here. Some really interesting fights and definitely a lot of room for debate (well there normally is when me and you are scoring fights).

I'm a big fan of Griffith's, but I must say that even his best fight IMO...vs Tiger the 1st time...was painfully close, just as were his two fights with Archer...and all this speaks nothing as to how close all the Rodriguez fights were. it was just intrinsic to Griffith's nature and boxing style that his fights tended to be close. You really have to be a fan to appreciate his rather clinical, "mechanic's" style. He was, despite it all, an excellent fighter...especially after the death of Benny Paret, when his entire approach to his craft changed and he became devoted to winning on points and forsaking the knockouts.

 

I don't see Griffith-Paret II that close.

I saw Griffith initiating his mauling inside game, Paret getting little chance to work at mid-range and the only effective work down by Emile.

 

I had Griffith-Ortega I a clear win to Griffith. 6-4,7-3 or summat.

 

And then Rodriguez filled in at shirt notice for Archer and beat Mims!

 

What's more horrible to watch - Griffith's mauling n' brawling tactics or LMR's shoe-shine body punches?
