Interesting matchup and i honestly think both guys have a good chance of winning but im leaning towards Griffith by split decision. Thoughts?

My thoughts too. It’s one of those fights where you just don’t know who will take it.

Both fighters were supremely skilled. But if it's best night versus best night, I lean to the naturally bigger man James Toney.
The problem with Toney was his uneven performances.
He couldn't afford to have a lazy night against Griffith and expect to win.

If this is at 160lbs Griffith might be too seasoned for Ol Toney but if you had them fight at 168lbs (Griffith fought Tiger after all) I think JT is too big, too good (they were similarly skilled) and would probably stop EG, JT was a football player always in fat camp, steamed down and boiled he was in the wrong division if they fought at 175lbs-190lbs where Toney belonged and EG came in at 160lbs it’d obviously be a blood bath but 175lbs-Open weight is where James would be in the 60s.
