    Gil Clancy's fighters.

The two at their best, at the middleweight limit.

Emile could do everything Valdez could a little better besides punch and Emile wouldn't be walking out open here like he did against Carter. Emile by clear decision in a tight fight.

Carter who outweighed him by what? 12-15 lbs.? Not to mention the '***' references at the weigh in that infuriated Emile and took him out of his game plan.
I've always thought Rodrigo gets the short end of the stick when it comes to great middleweights. When he and Monzon finally fought, he was as seasoned and 'war-torn' as Carlos having turned pro in 1962 at the ripe age of 16!
Patterson & Griffith, and of course SRR are my three favs all time but Rodrigo and others are right below in that second tier.
