it was only the other day i learned he was gay/bisexual

then also found that they made a documentary on him with the unfortunate Title RING OF FIRE

Find this all a bit shocking. is he the only gay boxer ever ? i always thought there wasnt any.

quite a sad documentary, worth buying.

    also
In May 2012 it was announced that trumpeter Terence Blanchard and playwright Michael Cristofer are working on an opera titled Champion based on Griffith's story which will premiere at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis in June 2013

Its a shame though that his story gets more publicity because of his sexuality when Benvenuti and Monzon were the better boxers

I love Benevenuti but no way he was better than Griffith. Unless you mean another, which I can kinda see. As for gay boxers, I heard rumors about Panama Al Brown but I don't remember where.

first of all i dont quite understand what you have posted, all seems a bit jumbled up. But if you are trying to say Griffith is better than Benvenuti you must be crazy, they fought 3 times and Nino won twice. Also Nino Benvenuti is in the Boxing News 100 Greatest Boxers List and Emile doesnt even get a look in

I've heard there was speculation that Donald Curry was gay. Same for Carlos Palomino apparently.

I don't know enough to comment. That's just what I've seen posted here.

i think it's because u've seen a hypothetical fight between him and Griffith and 1 of d suggestions was that it should have been fought @ San Francisco .
Seemed like a suggestion about Curry as well 4 me 2 , but maybe it was just because of Griffith . Never read anything like that about Curry outside of that post myself as well
