Although I admired both fighters, I think that version of Roberto Duran wins his encounter with Emile Griffith by a late round stoppage, TKO 13. Griffith excelled at middleweight. Ruben Hurricane Carter stopped Emile in round 1, of a non title bout in 1963. Griffith would make it competitive for the first 5 rounds, but Duran's strength makes the difference. Roberto would wear him down.
Well the best version of Griffith is the one who took the title from Parret in their first fight (not the death fight). Tough fight, but I'd take Montreal Duran. Just a bit too quick and dynamic for Griffith, but make no mistake it would be close as Griffith was amazing in his own right. Duran by decision.
