We already saw the TPMS (Tire Pressuring Monitoring System for the INCELS w/ no driver's license) and engine light come on in the second half of the Thurman fight. He will be 42, maybe 42.5, by the time he fights again. Throw in the long layoff, we could see a shell on fight night.

    A tune up, he needs.

It's possible that he's gotten too old now. Thurman won rounds because Pac started looking old. Never had he weakened that way in the past.

He should maybe make the fight with Khan next even at 42 if he lands with that straight left Khan will crumble.

He seems fine. Gradual decline, no signs of sudden unraveling. His retirement will likelier be precipitated by losing a couple of consecutive somewhat competitive decisions rather than suddenly getting bushwhacked.

I'm a long time Pac admirer, but yeah, especially if he fights Crawford or Spence, he could look very old very suddenly.

Of course, I'd be delighted if he proved the world wrong, yet again.

A 50 year old Pacquiao would stiffen Crawford,
the styles don't match up in Terences favour.

I semi expect to see a noticeable decline.

The Thurman fight seemed to be harder on him than its getting recognized for. Guess he was pretty beat up and spent afterwards... Margarito style (in which afterwards I feel I saw a small decline in him) so at this age, it shouldn't be surprising if he doesnt keep the form and function of the Thurman fight.

Hope Im wrong though. Who knows maybe the rest due to covid will be a benefit to him.

I think we will as well. Pac looked like he was fading badly in the second half of the Thurman fight after he unloaded on him in the first six rounds. And Thurman did land some crispy power shots — the same ones that rattled Porter and Danny.

This similar prediction was said over and over again since 5-6 years ago....

It also helps that Pac has been matched carefully since he fought Margarito. He hasn't taken on any young and hungry lions since then. People overreact to the Thurman victory. I've been on this board since the Robert Guerrero fight screaming to anybody who would listen that Thurman is a hype job. But nobody would listen. They would just shut their ears and sing one time praises like ******ed, group thinking idiots.

I'd point out this so called A-lister and big, bad Welterweight just had a grueling fight with over the hill tiny little Guerrero. If they watched the actual fight they would have noticed Guerrero kicking his ass in the later rounds.

I disagree that Pac's decline has been gradual. It's been sharp. He went from throwing thousands of power shots a fight, eating punishment like candy and shattering faces to abruptly stopping this stuff, all the while carefully selecting his opponents. A complete reversal from his prior form.

But perhaps you were answering this question in the context of "full system failure". So I guess we could say, Pac fighting like a frail old man unable to mix it up with the back half of the top 10 without getting thrashed? Yea I don't know, it's remarkable he's still competitive with even this new carefully selected opposition.

If Pac is matched with an actual top level young and hungry elite Welterweight getting bushwhacked seems to be the most likely scenario. But since Pac hasn't done that in like a decade his decline has gone more under the radar.

PacMan vs Thurman kind of reminded me of Erik "El Terrible" Morales vs PacMan I. EM had to fight at such a high level in that fight that his slide as a fighter was probably hastened by that fight. Same as Pac. Prime Pac would have destroyed Thurman. However, add up all the fights, wars, training camps, and the KO loss to JMM and you can see why Pac's slide should have begun sooner rather than later. Pac took the first half of the Thurman fight and managed to hang on for the win. If they were to fight again, I could see Thurman wearing down Pac for the win. I've said it once and I'll say it again. NO ONE beats Father Time.
