I felt this way last night he was hurt but he was fighting back his legs were not gone that was due to his poor balance..
wasnt a bad stoppage.... plenty of time + he was hurt + bad cut= good reason to stop the fight... he was throwing back, but it was more like he was just moving his arms around... im not complaining...
No, that WAS a bad stoppage. The ref made a hasty call. Nwodo was flailing around the ring, but he could have continued. The stoppage happened after a Godfrey MISS. Nwodo would have been better off taking a knee and giving the ref time to realize that a doctor should look at the nose. That would have helped him cloear his head perhaps. All his stumbling around probably made things look worse. Bad stoppage, ref.
Agreed. Bad stoppage. There seems to be a trend lately towards stopping fights while the other guy is still throwing back. Nwodo almost clipped the ref with a right hook as the ref tried to stop the fight.
i did not like the stoppage but i dont think it was a bad one he was all over the place and if the ropes were not there he would of been down at one point before the ref jumped in he grabbed the top rope and slid half way across the ring overall how many more shot could he have taken before he was out or his nose was ripped off
also i was ringside and the amount of blood that was comin out of that cut was crazy i think the ref already had it set in his mind that it was over but stepped in at the wrong time i have seen worse stoppages i think if matt was winning a couple of the rds up to that point nobody would have anything to say about it
Bad stoppage, Nwodo was winning the fight by a very large margin (4 points after 3 rounds), and outside of that 20 second spurt in the 4th, was kicking Godfrey's ass.
Even if the doctor would have looked at it, the fight still would have been stopped... Too much blood rushing out... Wasn't a bad stoppage.... Maybe the ref also had the Ding A Ling wilson fight in mind....
