Round 1

Rodríguez is advancing on López with the left jab. López with the quick right jab stepping to his left. Lefts on the body by López. FLUSH counter hook by Rodríguez slams into López's right temple as they are circling in close. Best shot of the first couple of minutes of the round. Rodríguez losing the jab battle, his left being neutralized as López skeet-shoots it in the air and then snaps the southpaw jab past it in one continuous motion. Rodríguez with a stiff jab on López's mouth. Both flurry before the bell.

Just polished off the bag of microwave popcorn I made between Chisora vs. Washington and Joshua vs. Helenius and now there is more greasy chemically butter on my fingers than I really want to get on my laptop keyboard.

 

Round 2

Rodríguez spends the first minute trading jabs with López tit for tat, and then closes the distance and plants another left hook on him. López hurt. Rodríguez maintaining just enough distance to not walk into counters but still tilt in and score on López, as with a BIG uppercut. Rodríguez has López fleeing into the ropes under fire, combinations numbering half a dozen punches. López dancing around, pawing right jabs, lots of nervous defensive juking & jiving.

Round 3

Rodríguez is aggressively thrusting jabs and rights at López, applying cautious pressure, always with a straightened heads-up posture. López trying to thread some counters in between Rodríguez's stuff but looking a bit cowed by the bright lights and the power of Rodríguez. Lots of ducking and side to side bobbing by López, but Rodríguez finding him with doubled up lead rights anyway. Rodríguez wrapping his left glove around the right wrist of López to casually discard his jab and open up lanes for the straight right. López behaving like prey.
