RIP, Manny. ATG trainer and by all accounts just as good of a person.

When I read the news I was stunned. I still am.

What a terrible, terrible loss. I was hoping and praying the rumours weren't true, but unfortunately they were. Manny was a true legend of the sport, and I mean that in the most honest, literal way possible. It's a measure of his importance that I think many of us got to feel like he was almost a permanent fixture in the boxing landscape. It's only when he's gone do we realise what a massive presence he was, and how much he'll be missed.

    Rest in Peace Emanuel Steward.

Haven't been on the Net for a long time, saw the news on CNN, I was stunned! Emmanuel Steward was one of the best ever, if not the very best ever!!! HBO is showing their their disrespect by not showing Vladimir Klitschko Vs. Wach as Vlad is one of the best of Emmanuel's students ever, yet HBO still shows their sick disdain...............so sad.................HBO = Home Buttocks Office..............

What always struck me about Steward, was given the amazing human being he was, trainer, mentor, manager and first class human being. Was how humble and selfless he was... Now here was a guy who truly cared about the INDIVIDUAL, not just the fighter. I had the honor of meeting him in Brockton at a boxing card honroing Marvin Hagler, of course Steward came to honor Hagler as well. I introduced myself to him saying I though he was one of the greatest minds in boxing, he looked smiled, shrugged and said` wait, I don`t know about that`... We talked a bit, just a great, down to Earth regular guy. Boxing loses with his passing ...

HBO not showing the fight has nothing to do with Manny. There's no money and little to no interest in the US to show Wlad beat up some sloth on a tape delay. It's a simple business decision.

I wonder how Andy Lee is taking this. He has lived with Steward for quite a few years now, the man was almost like a father to him...

I was listening to his last interview earlier today and at the beginning when the radio host is showering him with praise, Emanuel cuts him off and wants to go back to talking boxing. He was clearly uncomfortable with receiving compliments, amazing humility.

Was really saddened to hear this, Steward is one of thee great trainers of all time, what he did for Lewis and Vlad was superb, as well as many other fighters. Steward was someone I always liked to listen to talk about boxing, he will be missed, rest in peace fella.

Two things stick out to me... 1) No one polished the stone better than Emanuel. Meaning, he knew how to put the cherry on top of the fighters he worked with. Gave them that extra `something` that put them over the top. 2) Who didn`t like Emanuel Steward ??? Probably THE most liked and well respected guy in boxing. Thats saying something ...
