I think they said he had colon cancer. I hope he is able to take to the treatment and recover, but at his age it might not be the most likely outcome. With that said I wish him the best of luck in treating the sickness and send him and his family my well wishes.
I thought he had some aggravated stomach issue due to over working himself? I thought that is what his sister (who manages his interests) had released to the public. Either way, get well soon Manny!
He came to our boxing gym like 6 months ago. Very quiet and had some guys watching after him but seemed in really good spirits
cancer and age may be a hard mix. but james randi had cancer at 81 and walked it down. cancer is not a death sentance, chemo is more productive and less clumsy as it used to be. with chemo now part of protien strands it can target cancer cells. he is relatively fit and resolute i hope he will make it through. good luck manny. a fight harder than ever before.
Prayers for Manny and his family, I hope when he pulls through this, I can add that "this is turning out just as I thought it would" (with sincere respect).
My thoughts exactly, but we're not doing too well this year.I remember the joy I felt when Froch beat Bute, only to be brought shattering down to earth with the news that one of my all time heroes,Johnny Tapia had gone.
Thoughts and prayers for the Steward family. He's had a great life, let's just hope it isn't over yet.
