I've always been unsure of if manny is as dumb as ESBers say he is...But after tonight's fight and his comments on the flow of the fight, the fighters, and how wrong he was in regards to everything...He is without a doubt an overrated/dumb analysis to say the least which means hes also likely a poor trainer.

Pretty bold statement there, bro. You entitled to your opinion.

Yeah he's getting old and losing his marbles. He couldn't even pronouce Maidana's name correctly. He probably didn't know who Victor was fighting until he looked at the scoreboard.

He is an excellent trainer. One of the best at developing a game plan in the ring. :deal

To say the absolute friggin' least!! He has prolly the best boxing brain in the world, IMO. As far as on air for HBO, well he has to say what they want him to say and NOT say what they don't want him to. Simple as that.:yep

He was calling the right fight as far as I could tell from watching.

How many times did he say "either guy can go down"?

Seemed very accurate to me, and I think he was right--Ortiz should have boxed more and needn't have gone toe-to-toe so much.

Upon further reflection, I actually believe Manny did a fine job calling that fight.

correct. HBO has scrips and wants hem to push certain things and fighters. Especially GOLDEN BOY fighters. While manny can get off tract sometimes when announcing (they all do) he is a genius in the ring. History tells us that as well:deal

I agree the guy is a ****ing idiot that offers no real insight. Most of the time he says the fights is going exactly how I thought it would or some stupid **** like that. The guy is nothing more than a self-serving ******* who couldn't even pronounce Ortiz or Maidana's name right. Bring back Roy Jones Jr whose insight was without peer.

Actually, I think he's a much better commentator than a trainer , which is not too much to say!

Yup, and you'd be awful far fetched to find any times Manny was REALLY wrong.:deal

If HBO wasn't worried about a "Spoiling", I'd bet Manny could tell us the round and exact time of most fights goin' down.:yep
