Tyson turned pro in 85, thats nearly 20 yrs in the game smart ass, age has less to with things, its all about wear and tear.
thats life. i mean he gave more than he got- alot more and thats as much as u can hope for. i mean how many fighters did he take their spirit away from - taunted , toyed with. its hard to see a great man go out like that- but hey - thats the circle of life- and nothing teaches that cruel life lesson more than boxing. no matter how great u are- mother nature and father time are one you cannot ever beat.
sad to see a great fighter go out losing but its time to call it quits. once he lost to tarver and johnson, guys he would have beaten in his prime, it was clear he was done. and alot of that has to do with the fact that his style is mainly based on physical avantages like speed and reflexes. once those diminshed, he became beatable. sad because his career should have turned out better, although it still was impressive.
That's really hard to watch, but at least it looks like he's got a good family to come home to. He needs to retire, but if he absolutely wants to try and go out on a high note or at least on a wining performance he's should choose a feather-fisted B level guy so he's not stopped again.
:yep:yep:yep Amazing how the chief Jones hater is such a nuthugger of VITLAY - even if Jones does have a glass jaw (which he doesn't) at least he has heart, unlike the ***** that quit against a guy half his size :rofl
Mike Tyson destroyed Larry Holmes. Ali was brutalized by Holmes. They were also heavyweights and were not being matched against naturally bigger guys. Leonard was KO'ed by Camacho, Oscar stopped by Pac, Tszyu by Hatton, Tyson by Williams, Duran by Joppy, Whittaker by Bojorquez.... Your argument holds not water. You're a ****ing idiot. That is all.
on a side note i was in that video lol Hope Roy retires..or if he continues hopefully its just against a tomato can so he can score a spectacular knockout and hang them up on a good note. Thanx for the amazing fights u did give us though Roy
No great deserves the end like that, but almost 100% do......I can only think of Marciano and Ricardo Lopez who knew when the time had come to hang them up. Its not so bad though.....these greats dished out alot of punishment, and embarrassed quite a few along the way. Its not so bad that they have to taste some of their own medicine when they're on their way out. A little humbleness never hurt anyone. Quite honestly I belive Roy Jones will be a better human being for having been humbled.
:good :good Go watch the first fight. Was it a decisive win for RJJ? Was it the old Roy running circles around Tarver like he had done to everyone else before then? NO! I think going up and coming down ruined him too. He was never the same after the Ruiz fight. He owned Ruiz and never really truly dominated in old fashion again after that.
well said. I wish Roy nothing but the best. Hopefully this a good lesson in life for him, because he was clearly one of the guys who took the showboating over the top.
The greatest showman in the world!!! He's the only boxer that made me scream and applaud... watching a match home alone... Respect!!! He is and always will be #1 for me!
