If the WBO wanted Pascal to get a shot at their title, they should have just sanctioned the Pascal/Zuniga fight. Personally I'm tired of Zuniga getting ****ed every time he turns around!

I agree. His reign at 168 was pathetic IMO. I regard it right up there with Holyfield being the only 4 time heavyweight champion by beating Ruiz for the WBA title back in 2000. Slappy Joe held a meaningless title by for years by beating creampuffs in Europe. At least Hopkins fought good competition in his defense: Trinidad, Echols, Johnson, Jackson and Lipsey.

I think Echols and Johnson would have a good chance of beating Slappy Joe if they had fought him around the same time they fought Hopkins.

Only in the sense he had a lot of 12 round fights at a high level which is an impressive feat. The bauble he carried into the ring for those fights was irrelavent though.

I agree with everything apart from the first bit. The WBO isn't recognised as a major title by a lot of people including The Ring & HOF.

I couldn't agree more. He's too dangerous for his own good. The guys being avoided like the plague. Pascal's last opponent almost Ko'd him, so I can understand hwy his handlers don't want him in there with a guy that floored Kelly Pavlik. Pascal's a f'n joke if you ask me. I still don't get why some people actually consider him elite. I rate Allen Green much higher than Pascal and nobody even talks about him anymore.

Yeah, but i'm talking about the undefeated Glenncoffe Johnson that first tasted defeat at the hands of the executioner.

Green??? Pascal??? Zuniga would check both those chins BIG TIME! I don't want to steal the thread, but with regard to Fulgencio Zuniga; Pascal's replacement for August 1st is Sebastian Demers. Hopefully they fight at 160, and Zuniga vacates his IBO trinket and stays at 160. In that division Pavlik, Abraham, and Wright are the only guys I would bet on against Zuniga.

    STFU about Zuniga man

Guys pish, you are only high on him because the slap headed wonder did him. Even Pascal beats him, and Green ain't even top 10, its no achievement to beat the man with a foot fetish

I'm pretty sure he fought 5 mandatories - Veit both times, Mkrtchian, Gimenez and Sheika; and the fight with Pudwill would have been against a mandatory except the mandatory (Tate) got hurt a week before the fight so he fought a replacement. Tate subsequently lost to Sheika, who became the mandatory, and Joe fought him instead.

Good win against a good fighter.

And what if Kessler doesn't amount to much, ala Jeff Lacy?

He's then only got old-man-on-2weeks-notice Eubank, and EVEN OLDER man in his mid-forties 2-weight-dvisions-above-prime Hopkins.

What is someone's due is a matter of opinion. I refuse to give Cal the respect and due that I give say a Roy Jones jr, a Floyd Mayweather jr, a Bernard Hopkins, a Lennox Lewis, an Oscar Dela Hoya, etc...

IMO, he's not on that pedastool.
