End of an Era, Joe Cal Vacates WBO title.

Good... But I wasn't directing that at you. The other bloke was saying give the man his dues in a rash kind of way. I believe when you balance out the nut-huggery with the hating, Cal gets his due right about where he deserves it. From the way he (the other poster) seemed to get riled up, it appeared as if he thought we should be putting Cal on their level (not higher, just even... which is just as wrong, imo).

 

I'm not sure about that, there about several hundred haters for only one true hugger in CHJ, who has turned against him.

 

Calzaghe fans, on here anyway, are usually voted as the number 2 nut-huggers behind Pac fans (which is the obvious choice). So I disagree with CHJ being the only true nut-hugger.

And I haven't seen much of CHJ recently, but I'd be weary that he's truly turned against him. Every single thing that guy does is indirectly (or directly) trying to make Calzaghe look like he was the best fighter of all time, or something along those lines.

I'd say Calzaghe has the biggest nuthuggery group on here (or did). His recent activities have hit the rank hard though. Reading recent posts on the forum I think many fickle among the bunch are defecting to David Haye. They all ready have Haye down as an ATG...

:huh How can there be ANYTHING sound and logical about calling Joe Calzaghe the best fighter ever. From pure natural talent, to stylistically, to TECHNIQUE, to most importantly RESUME - there's nothing logical or reasonable about it.

If anything, to believe he backs it up with sound logic and reason, would only make said believer into a nut-hugger themselves... No?

I honestly can't see it any other way.

Calzaghe gives away the WBO Belt? Who cares! He won it in 1997, at a time where the WBO got no attention in the USA. Calzaghe also did not do more title defenses the BHop, because he got a real champ after beating lacy and earning the proper IBF belt.
