Explain why Zuniga got replaced by the great Elvin Ayala:huh Seriously! You know the whole story as we have discussed before. I've never seen any reasonable explaination for that one!

    Arguably no.

At the time, the WBO was more like the "European" title (look back at history, and MOST of the early WBO champs are outside of the US, a large number of them Euros)

There's a reason Evander refused to fight for it (against Bowe, I think) back in the mid 90s.

    It meant next to zilch.

Questions about both of their resumes are also made. Eubank is very candid about the fights he avoided, particularly against the good Americans. The UK scene was a lot more competitive then anyway.

Elvin Ayala made The Latin Snake slither for the hills in their fight, he would be have been off to Beijing for the Olympics as a track star if he counted as human.

Pavlik desperately wants to fight Mora too. Maybe thats why he replaced him.

I met my Misses at school, so I was never a free agent.

Unlike booradley for instance, he took more pricks than Ricky Hatton's dart board before retreating to his hideaway.

You may have noticed that my brain is incorrectly wired and sometimes I take things quite literally. Worst case was when I was taking some engineering classes. I walked into a mens lavatory and one of the urinals had a sign, "Out Of Order". Of course when you are taking engineering classes you deal with LOTS of numbers. So my first thought was, there has to be at least TWO out of order. Think 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 5, 7, 8, ............ That may explain some of my previous postings. ;)

Benn was when he held the WBC title. This doesn't mean I'm knocking Eubank's acheivements, he won a lot of twelve round fights at a high level which is good, he just wasn't a champion. Not everyone can be a champion sadly, which is why it's such a high accolade.

Joe is good, the WBO was a joke and he never had to meet any mandatories. He could fight he just couldn't bother show us until now. :/

Sure he met Eubank etc. but that was when 168 was young and only the UK cared. Since then it has become a major division and therefore people needed to see if Joe could handle it. Now he has shown us but it was dumb that it took so long - and the WBO is definitely to blame... along with his manager .. and himself in the end I guess.

Pascal is worthy and Balszay is actually a good fighter, but I wish he could have had a name fight first because he is not very known. On the other hand if the WBO are gonna use the same strategy as they did wit hJoe then the WBO champ will be irrelevant.

You've actually reminded me of how they sold that "fight". It was on the Tyson/Neilsen undercard & in the obligatory booming voice we heard how Joe Calzaghe was facing "...Will Fire McIntyre, a man who has never been knocked down...".
