Cotto = the true Kingpin of the WW division.
(Based on quality of opponents during his run win/lose)

You make a good point, but to a casual fan.. How many times as Floyd retired now? If not retired he only fights once a year anyway.
Everybody knows Mayweather needed to fight guys like Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Clottey, Paul Williams, etc when he retired. The WW division was red hot. Mayweather retired, and when he came back only 1 fight a year.. pac fought a fight every 3-4 months. He beat DLH, Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito. 3 guys people wanted Floyd to fight before he retired. Of course Floyd fought Mosley first. and neither from Paul Williams.
So yeah... You are right in your timeline, but most people (including myself) didn't really know when was retired, and when he was just taking a long layoff... or care for that matter. Thanks for the info though

Mayweather retired for all of 2008 and came back at the end of 2009
..during his retirement Margarito loss to Paul WIlliams...Williams lost to Quintana, & never fought at WW again after that fight.....Cotto lost to Margarito, Margarito lost to Mosley...Mosley was the #1WW and Mayweather beat him.....Mayweather wouldnt fight guys coming off a loss...

If he doesn't fight people coming off a loss... Why not fight them before he retired? :think
Pac had plenty of wins before the Bradley fiasco, and yet to fight him.

He just retired, let the dust settle at 147, see who is left standing, and then pointed at Marquez, gave him a year supply of weight gainer, and said meet me in the ring! Made perfect sense.

so even if he did see who was left standing...that guy happened to be Shane Mosley who was ranked # 1 @ ww and #3 P4P....Cotto, Margarito, williams, or clottey have ever been ranked #1 @ WW or even been ranked as high @ #3 P4P.....:patsch

*****s ******ed as fvck, posting make-out stories an'****.

when the WW was scorching hot, floyd had to flee. Pac came up later and fought whoever was there. there was no claim whatsoever that he cleaned up the WW division.

Did you READ what I posted??
I said based on the quality of his opponents win/lose.
NOBODY during that time period (Besides Tony) fought the top guys.

That "0" ain't **** if you didn't fight the best.
