I've seen numerous times a fighter who had his eye closed shut by the swelling. Could it be possible to somehow cut the fighter intentionally so that the blood flows out? they routinely bled the fighter to clear his eyes back in the London prize ring rules days. there's even stories of guys sucking the blood out of the nose of fighters to help them breathe. they banned the practice though, something about damaging the nerves or something.
