    Who wins?

    @chitownfightfan

"Srs resume reads like a bunch of Heilands with the occasional Frankie Gavin level fighter.

Jr would DESTROY Sr who came into his prime during the weakest era in mw history and STILL SWERVED THE ONLY A LISTERS.
Finally getting forced to take the Enzo fight after losing both fights with Collins who Lemiuex would ice in a rd."

This post got me thinking about the topic.....

Personally think it's obvious that English kills him, better boxer + more power.

Umm, I think he was mistaken by dismissing Eubank Sr. boxing career. He did it the HARDDDDDDD WAYYYYYYYY!!
He used to clean gyms in New York when he came over just to get some good sparring in, plus he was the reason that that WBO belt had any validity back when it was considered just a European belt.
Put some respeck on Senior's name.

Jr doesn't even have the fundamentals down yet. He can't do much with a boxer who doesn't walk straight in with his hands high to uppercut and flurry against, basically.

    Sr plays with him.

Not only does Chris Eubank Sr. savagely beat Jr. to a pulp, but Nigel Benn, Steve Collins, Graciano Rocchigiani and beyond any shadow of a doubt Joe Calzaghe do as well. So don't waste your time making threads about that.

Jr has/had potential, he is a great athlete (but a little bit clumsy), however his pampered life style has developed a softness in him. He doesn't have the heart of these warriors tbh, not from what I have seen lately.

I was actually appalled at his social media carry on after the fight.
Its as if he thinks he has already achieved it all, quite a shocking attitude considering how poorly he did against Groves.

I do hope he becomes a legitimate world champion one day, but if I was a betting man I certainly wouldn't bet on it.

Talk the talk, you need to walk the walk. Jr's arrogance allowed him to get to such a level, but it will also stop him from breaking through to the next level.

Whatever he does I hope he fights some movers asap, even if its Tommy Langford level, id like him to prove he can deliver against that style.

I'm convinced the main reason why English hypes up his son so much is precisely because he knows deep down Junior's talent is not enough to cut it at world level. I think he's known this from the get-go (he never wanted him to box) and this explains why he encouraged Junior's career to be built up off the back of his name, and why he put himself straight dead centre of the spotlight to magnify media attention way beyond what his son's performance and talent justified. Cleverly, he has made junior way more famous and wealthy than he otherwise would have been.

Bottom line: Yeah English would have obliterated his son, and Senior thinks so too...

I used to hate Sr when he was in his prime and some of his fights were dull, BUT he was an entertainer, he was charismatic, and he was involved in some of the most memorable fights in British sporting history, so you always tuned whether you loved him or hated him.

Jr hasn't got his dad's charisma, and quite simply hasn't paid his dues in boxing yet, like his father did. I think one of the reasons a lot of fans tune in to watch Jr, is because we still yearn for the Eubank/Benn/Watson days, then later Collins, but Jr rekindling those days is starting to look like a pipe dream now.

I agree with you about Sr, but I'm not sure all of us Brits who remember those great days ever really believed Jr was capable of bringing them back. We all knew didn't we, that from Jr's early days on Channel 5 promotions and thence on we could all see the level he was probably going to be and alot of those flaws he still has 5 years on. In our heart of hearts we all knew didn't we.

Got Sky News on, just seen you moments ago in the House of Commons talking about Syria, now I know what you were looking at on your iphone!

Yeah, the good ol' C5 days of Tyson Fury headlining with Eubank Jr on the undercard... all on free TV. To be fair I didn't really expect Fury to one day beat Wlad, but I guess we started to see more of the inner boxer in him when he started to lose the excess weight. I suppose Eubank Sr had flaws as well, but he put his stamp on boxing, where as it is already looking too late for Jr to do the same, any rivalries that were there for him have fizzled out, he's already been beaten soundly by Groves, a possible meeting with De Gale is not going to do the numbers it could have done, barring both of them having some kind of huge resurgence, which is looking unlikely at this stage.

Untrue, I said he could break into the top 10 if he won the WBSS

That would have been a huge feat, but he didn't get close

Based on current achievements he would barely scrape into the top 10 of either 160/168 division.
