Had a short career and only one fight after losing his title back to Carlos Deleon (1983) which was over four years later (1987). In his career he picked up Nevada and California state titles, regional NABF before relinquishing that bauble when he won the WBC/Lineal Cruiserweight crown. In his career he had a DQ loss to Gerry Cooney in 1977 and between 1981-83 has a four fight winning streak against Yaqui Lopez, Carlos Deleon, Jesse Burnett all by stoppage then decisioned future WBC heavy titlist Trevor Berbick who was coming off a loss to Renaldo Snipes the previous year.

S.T. had an erratic career and was dangerous on his night by all accounts but somewhat fustrating in putting a solid run together but has promptly been forgotten by the public and most if not nearly all boxing fans.

His record has been called into question as Boxrec state on his wiki page:

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this former forgotten champ?

    S.T. Gordon adds title,
    Ward goes 12 with Ellis
    By Paul Armstrong

S.T. Gordon and his fans left the Inglewood Forum disappointed as Gordon was unable to put away King
David Smith. Gordon met Smith for the vacant Calif. State Cruiservweight title and Gordon's NABF
Cruiserweight crown was also on the line as the bout was scheduled for 12 rounds. Smith turned out to be very unworthy opponent but the promoters were unable to locate a more suitable foe. Jerry Celestine, Bash Ali, Jesse Burnett were all asked to fight Gordon but all declined for various reasons

DeLeon slugged with him in the first fight, then fought smarter in the rematch.

In between Gordon outhustled a lethargic Berbick.

Gordon did not put on any weight for the Berbick fight. He was below 200 lbs.

He was a big cruiser and had power, but was not a great boxer

DeLeon was a class above as he proved in the rematch.

Yeah I wondering where he is now and also what he proper name is. For all we know he may be deceased, it would be good to know what became of him.

Yeah Berbick was similar in being hit and miss when fighting, good one minute then looks bad the next.

He sure did a number on DeLeon in that first fight. His Cooney fight looked like a tank job.

The way to lure me into a thread is to label the fighter in question as "enigmatic"....

His career was short really, a decade but in reality a 6 year period and 4 years later a single comeback fight. Record was patchy but had some solid if not outstanding wins and won a Championship, even though the recently created division is looked back on with disdain by some. Then he disappeared into obscrurity without any info of where he went or what he's doing. That to me is a bit of an enigma, but most fighters I have my curiouity peaked by tend to be the little known one's who either go under the radar or in this case not even on it.

    How would you describe him?
