*Sky dump card off PPV due to poor undercard *Sky offer to move it to SS3 *Team Khan not happy with SS3 (Would have been happy with SS1) *Team Khan not happy with offer given for SS3 *Team Khan negotiate deal with Primetime to be on PPV Primetime are showing Khan/McCloskey.
Undercard fell apart. Sky decided that it was no longer PPV worthy. Sky offered Khan a huge paycut to show the fight on Sky Sports 3. Khan wanted Sky Sports 1 and more money. Sky couldn't agree because of their arranged broadcast schedule. Khan decided to go to primetime in order to be on PPV and make more money.
Depends how the PPV sells. In the long term it seems like a stupid decision. He has a huge unification fight in the summer - he could have taken a pay cut now to fight on sky sports, then put on an exciting performance in front of a HUGE audience of potential Khan - Bradley buyers. Not to mention keep good relations with the biggest boxing broadcaster in the country. But no, now he's gone to fight in a poxt little channel that no one has heard of, just to make some cash in the shirt term. Absolutely no foresight whatsoever.
Will a move to showtime now automatically preclude any of his future fights being aired on Sky though?
I don't think it comes down to morals - this is his job and he's entitled to try and get paid as much as he can. He had a PPV deal with Sky, which they retracted - this mean that he's free to find another deal. I just think most people just feel that going to Primetime was a stupid, short-sighted business move. To be honest I highly doubt it's Khan that's making these decisions, he just seems to be guided by idiots
How the glorious "Team Khan" agreed a contract with SKY which allowed them to pull out of the PPV 10 days before the fight, says it all.
Or he's not in control or doesn't have a say in his own career. There's no ****ing way he could have really wanted Ariza fired. I believe he's surrounded by idiots who are ****ing with his career to make as much money from him in the short term.
Ariza made me laugh when he mentioned about his old man being a cab driver and wanting to take over his career. Lol
