People lose in boxing. How many guys do you know that end up undefeated? I am tired of hearing the entire board erupt about what a bum a boxer is everytime someone loses. I don't care who it was against either... people lose. The most I have ever said about Lee on this site is that he is a very good prospect... never really a follower of the guy, but this **** is getting old. I am sure that if you guys watched Hopkins lose his first pro fight, you wouldn't have thought much of him at that time either. Fighters grow from their defeats.... at least some do. Let's give Lee a chance to learn and grow from his before he is written off as a joke and a bum.

Also, stop getting on people for being excited about Lee before this fight. Who cares if people thought he could beat top contenders or Champions? Boxing fans aren't allowed getting excited about prospects anymore? A lot of you guys sure do make it dull to be a boxing fan. Are we only supposed to be excited after they have become undisputed Champion?

Never called Lee a bum or a joke, but I called him as overrated and overhyped before most of these ****** posters were even high on him.

Then when Lee loses, no surprise, all of the anti-European posters come out and start proclaiming that other Euro 'bums' are soon to get exposed also.

EVEN ONES FIGHTING AT THE TOP LEVEL!

Which Lee was never even close too, that's the type of idiocy I can't stand.

No ranked boxer is a 'bum', such sentiments are insulting and degrading to professional athletes and warriors that are operating on such a higher physical level than ANYBODY on this forum, even guys who box amatuer and guys who train in martial arts and what not.

None of us are operating on any type of athletic/skill level plane as a top 25 professional boxer is.

Lee will learn from this. I'm not too upset about a loss.

As I've said before, huge expectations and hype leads to disappointment.

Yes. In boxing, people get punched in the face.

Lees still got immense talent he just obviously didnt respect Vera much and didnt prepare hard enough. His gameplan was weak not once did he use a righthook his signature punch. Let him learn from this he should come back and destroy Vera. Andy Lee future Middleweight Champion.

I myself see Gamboa as a very rare talent he isnt losing anytime soon unless he starts fighting elite guys right now.

I feel bad for Andy more than anything...it's gonna be tough for him to learn from this loss (emotionally) at such a young age...especially with all the positive talks of him. There is no doubt that he has good boxing skills though.

A fighter that is hyped like lee should never lose to a vera, hell peter's only loss came against the number 1 heavy in the world in wlad, a fight in which peter knocked him down 3 times.

It's possible, but one loss (as long as it isn't a Trinidad/Reid or Hagler/Mugabi type beatdown) wouldn't be too bad. He could learn from it.

But from what I saw of Lee prior to tonight, he wasn't nearly at the level Gamboa is now. Less noticable flaws/vulnerabilities. I don't have too much concern over Gamboa's chin, whereas I got the impression Lee didn't have the sturdiest beard.

And I also take into consideration Gamboa's level of competition, which already, is superior to Lee's.

I also don't understand why everything thinks that you are either a great champion or bust. Aren't boxers allowed to be good contenders or anything like that anymore?

Well said Jimmie. I think everyone who has seen Lee before knows that he has a ton of talent. I don't know what the **** happened here, but Lee is not a bum. He was a littler over hyped but I think he still has a bright future ahead of him.

And nothing is more annoying than folks bumping old threads talking a fight up just to post "LOL, THERE GOES THAT" after a loss.

He just got out-awkwarded and sucked out of his fight and into fighting stupid against a guy who honestly isn't very good. That, and his low right hand **** needs to end. But I can definitely sympathize and understand where Lee went wrong, as a tall middleweight I run into that trouble a LOT against guys who are shorter because they obviously can't box outside, they have to bum rush you nd try to get you out of your rhythm.

You're absolutely right. Lee looked like a LMW in comparison to Vera.

For being roughly the same height, Pavlik looks so much stronger.

Its a cop out to say Lee "didn't respect Vera". He flat out didn't have the tools, mental, physical, or skillwise, to beat him tonight.

That said, I hope he learns what his weaknesses are and improves. I've got no interest in belittling a fighter for kicks.
