If people hype a guy endlessly like he's a champion in waiting, and then the guy gets knocked out by some ordinary fighter - they better be able to take the **** that rightfully will come their way. It doesn't necessarily mean the fighter's no good - merely that if fans are gonna pump a guy up and make wild predictions about him, they better be prepared to take **** when things don't go as expected.

This about fan perceptions, more than the fighters themselves. If people can't stand the heat, they should get the hell out of the ESB kitchen, frankly.

And the only rounds Peter won in the whole fight were those 3 rounds 2 of which were most likely not even legit knockdowns.

You make some good points, but you are overlooking the fact that Vera is an unranked, unheralded opponent. It is a very bad prognostic sign for Lee that he would be kayoed by someone like Lee at this stage of his career.

Agreed, the loss doesn't mean that Lee is a bad fighter. It will not necessarily stop Lee from surfacing someday at the top of the division either. However it does suggest strongly that Lee's horizons are much less broad than we originally thought.

samuel miller fights him and batters him senseless then loses:huh

vera had nothign in terms of abilty just a small hook and a right hand...

lee shoudl of been able to taske care of these guys. this is what is meant by exposed. somthign very simple is getting exposed out of the other fighter that they cant seem to stop or do.

in this case it was a vera right hand in which lee's response was to throw a rigth hook when he came near...it was a very amatuer mistake to go toe-to-toe...but brian vera.

he has got the size charisma and punch to stay in the game. and pull off the excuse that he was weakened at middlewieght...where as 168 is better for him.

his footwork is also a bit odd he doesnt move round unless he makes a gesture of it.

There was one Olympics where some 'block' got involved with a pissing contest with the USA. They thought the USA judges were scoring their guys too low. So, tit for tat escelated. It got to the point where one fight was stopped on a slip down.

I admit I thought Andy Lee was gonna be a champion in the division but after losing to BRIAN VERA I just can't see that happening. I even thought he was better then John Duddy but at least Duddy beat Howard Eastman who even though isnt in his prime is MUCH better then Brian Vera is right now! I'm very disappointed but I'm still a fan of Andy Lee's.. I just don't see him doing too much after losing to Brian Vera. But let's see what happens down the road.
