Here is your top 15 posted by you in another thread:

    1-4. Mayweather/Calzaghe/JMM/Pacquiao - take your pick; I don't care.
    5. Cotto
    6. Vazquez
    7. Marquez
    8. Haye
    9. Pavlik
    10. Hatton
    11. Kessler
    12. Dawson
    13. Klitschko
    14. Abraham
    15. Spinks

What was your criteria for placing Spinks above Hopkins and Wright. What was your criteria for placing Hatton above Hopkins and Wright, Abraham above Hopkins and Wright, Haye above HOpkins and Wright, Dawson and so on. Time for you to start answering some questions and quit the bull**** your stirring up in your own thread. Good luck with the Spinks > Winky argument.....this should be humurous :yep

    This is easily solved

You just take Winky and Ms. Spinks off the list. Neither deserve to be on it

    Boxing is about opinion.

Decebal is of the opinion that Hopkins and Wright are too old these days to make any real impact against the top boxers in their respective divisions.

I think Decebal is perfectly entitled to his own opinions and profound distaste for some of the boxing publications and their idiotic ratings. It is very curious to realise that Hopkins was one of the fighters to fight the establishment, suing promoters, outfoxing Don "Only in America" King, telling what was who to Showtime and Jim Gray ( post fight interview after Allen II, talked about racism, corruption, et cetera), sticking it to HBO and now he is a part of the establishment with GBP, The Ring Magazine titles and ratings and being racist towards Calzaghe... I guess Winky is also a part of the establishment because he and his Winky Promotions have worked with GBP in putting some money in their pockets with that July 2007 exhibition in Mandalay Bay... Possibly, Decebal is being smart and playing mind games with us ( concerning Winky, Hopkins and Kessler) and that is not different from what Bernard is doing with Calzaghe - he is saying Enzo is going to behave like a father now and that his team is the execution squad ( with Mackie Shilstone; Freddie Roach and J.D. Jackson) - that is total BS, Hopkins is gonna try to steal the decision and that is that.

Other than replacing Spinks with Woods ( I know, I know ! ) and swapping Hatton with Abrahams I think thats a pretty good list. Hopkins knows how to win fights but does that make him a P4P ? I dont know.

I could just be supporting my Scottish brother though lol !

I admitted I didn't know enough about all the fighters on my p4p lists to be certain of the list. Such fighters I am not sure about include Spinks, Forrest and John, for example. Because I felt I didn't know enough, I said: "Forget all my p4p lists; there not worth looking into too deeply." I also, said: "I'll stop criticising others' p4p lists, but wouldn't mind knowing why Hopkins and Wright are so highly rated, still!"...So I started two threads on the subject.

Now, because you feel unable to justify having Hopkins and Wright in the p4p Top 10 or 15...you start attacking my previous p4p lists, which I admitted, were not good enough to warrant much attention.

Well, brother, just to let you know, just because you attack my p4p list, which I have given up defending when I realised I didn't know fully what I was talking about, that doesn't solve the problem regarding the justification or lack of it of Hopkins/Wright in the Top 10/15.

As to Haye, Hatton etc. well, they are not badly faded/faded like Hopkins and Wright, are they? Was Hatton faded against PBF? Did Haye look faded to you against Macca? Well, on the basis of their very recent performances against proven, superior competition that still had a pulse, they deserve to be highly ranked. How high? I'm not getting into that anymore - I told you so again and again.

As to Abraham, I think he would beat Wright at 160 these days. Just my view.

So...sorry to disappoint you, but I won't go back to defend that p4p list I drew up, because I've realised in the meantime that I wasn't competent enough to draw one that I could defend well enough, because I don't know all the fighters involved well enough.

But if you want that to take that it proves Hopkins and Wright should be in the Top 10 or Top 15 - go right ahead - it will be a proof in your mind only, though.:good

P4P is someones opinion, you can't reall critisce someoen for it, just offer your opinion back.

How Spinks can be ahead of Taylor is however beyond me!

Honestly, hand on heart, I'm not playing mind games on this. I can see why I might be accused of doing so, for two reasons:

    1. that post I wrote under an alias in which I said the best Hopkins could do was to win a moral victory over Calzaghe and that that in itself would be worth more at this stage in their respective careers than an outright win for Calzaghe over Hopkins. I still stand by that post.

    2. I am being accused of turning against Calzaghe because of information disclosed by PoW about those tickets his mate bought. Well, I never turned against Calzaghe, although, like most, I was very disappointed. What I think about Calzaghe as a man/person has nothing to do with what I think about him as a fighter/boxer. The same applies to Hopkins.

These two things combined with my insistence that unless Calzaghe dominates Hopkins clearly and doesn't lose more than 3 rounds, it means Calzaghe could possibly have been a little bit overrated (as a Top 3 p4p fighter) or that he had been fading in the meantime (since Kessler) - depending on his performance on the night - or that Hopkins was a bit underrated by Calzaghe fans, including myself, well, these things made some people believe I was setting up Calzaghe for a fall, because I was against him...This is crazy and of course I am denying it; it is not true.

So...no...I am not playing mindgames at all. :nono

What I am doing, though, is continuing my "campaign" against mainly US publications and websites who:
    • overrate certain legendary have-been US fighters just because they are American
    • underrate very good European/non-US based fighters just because they are not American/US based
    • sanction fights involving US have-been legends and give a lot of importance to those fights and the results, when some of the fighters involved should be fighting live, prime, dangerous, hungry opponents instead
    • sanction fights like the forthcoming Mayweather and Cotto fights, when they should be fighting to get them to fight each other
    etc,

And before anyone asks AGAIN: no, I am NOT Anti-American in any way. Without America, boxing would be much poorer, but sometimes, certain parts of the American media establishment have too much influence and that influence is often negative, on the sport as a whole.

    :good

What people also forget is that I campaigned for Calzaghe v. Kessler to happen and against Calzaghe picking Hopkins as his next opponent, preferring Dawson instead. So, I'm not letting the Euro boys go easy either. And NO, I'm not happy Bute fought Joppy either. If he keeps on fighting Joppy like opponents, I'm no longer interested in his career, particularly. So there! :)

Anyway..."enough of my bull****"...I've been posting too much lately and perhaps too aggressively, and it's getting on people's nerves. Fair enough.

I'm quite suprised that John Alutus, ahem Decebal, didn't have Lucian Bute in there. After all, he is a fanboy.

Me neither, never have and don't plan to. It's all highly subjective and merely the list makers opinion. I usually never even comment in threads about P4P lists because I very rarely agree with them all (how do fighters with losses rate above others, etc).

I give kudos to Decebal for having the guts to compile a list and post it on here for everyone to pick apart, like most any list does.
