That was not really meant as a stab at Ali either, he had some of the best footwork & handspeed not to mention his ability to absorb punishment. But he was a bit of a cheater..................especially later in his career.

So you can't lose a point for excessive holding? Have you ever seen that happen?

He doesnt need luck...he got inside the first fight plent of times, the problems was the that once he gets inside he still tries to throw a hook. Wlad leans in to Peters left and the punch lands to the back of Wlads head. Wlad's movement is what cause the punch to go to the back of the head and nobody ever seems to want to acknowledge that.

It's like you want Peter to pull the punch mid-swing because Wlad starts to lean forward...

Well said, the ref didnt warn Peter or take a point away because the rabbit punches were caused by Wlad putting his head down trying to clinch when he was hurt.

Peter had the living hell beat out of him by Wlad... It was sick to watch in the last rounds, I couldn't believe the punishment Sam was taking, I'm surprised he came back so succesfully after that fight.

Failure to recognize the facts makes you a very poor boxing fan...

    1. All 3 knockdowns were 100% legit as Wlad continuously turned his head. That's his stupidity, not Peter's. "Protect yourself at all times". It's pretty clear and the #1 rule in boxing.

    2. Wlad held Sam 96 times in the fight. Beyond excessive and any decent referee would have penalized him points for the flagrant holding.

    3. Peter landed 5 or 6 semi decent punches the entire night. He couldn't land many more due to Wlad's excessive holding. 3 of those 5 put Wlad on the canvas.

    4. Peter didn't land a single "Huge Bomb" power shot the entire fight. Period. If he had, Wlad wouldn't have survived as his chin is poor and everone knows it.

    5. The decision was a 3 point decision. Far from a "huge margin".

    6. Samuel Peter was in his infancy as a fighter and was not ready for a fight of that magnitude. His people made a poor decision that he wasn't ready for as a young up-and-comer. He clearly didn't embarass himself though.

If Wlad fans can't agree with these facts, they aren't being honest and are letting their biased opinions blind them from the truth.

Aside from our mutual admiration for the "Ghost" we seem to be at odds here. Of your first 5 points maybe #5 was solid.

Infancy? Goo goo ga ga... that was Peter's 25th fight. When will he be "seasoned"? After 50+ fights?! :tired

Yeah, us Wlad fans we be biased

Peter would starch Wlad in less than 6 in a rematch...IF Wlad even takes a rematch...
