There must be alot of Canadians on this site because I don't understand people making these threads about Chad Dawson supposedly "ducking" Diaconu. Let's go down the list and state some FACTS.. Adrian Diaconu was the one who PULLED out of the fight with Dawson.. That's a FACT. Chad Dawson faced and beat the TOUGHER competition.. That's a FACT. If Dawson was the one that pulled out of the fight against Diaconu all you Diaconu fans would be making 100 posts talking about how Dawson ducked him. Dawson is fighting a WAY better fighter in Glen Johnson that's another FACT. Diaconus biggest win was against RICO HOYE!!! FACT!!! And you guys are all hyping him up like he's the most feared man? The dude is a basic fighter. Dawson will school him easily and probably stop him. And I think he has overrated power. Just cause he knocked out a bunch of bums and RICO HOYE doesn't mean he's this vicious puncher that you're making him out to be. Ok so lets hear everyones opinions and I"m sure the Canadians will be on here in a second.

I agree, Diaconu fans are so annoying. They overrate AD's punching power and skills so much.

well if he is asking the WBC to remove Diaconu's status as mandatory challenger then Dawson is definately avoiding Diaconu. Not necessarily because he thinks he would lose but for one reason or another Dawson does not want to fight Diaconu.

IMO Dawson doesn't want to risk his title (even if its not a huge risk) against a no-namer when he has all these big money mega fights looming.

The fact is that Diaconu beat the **** out of Rico Hoye in a WBC eliminator and therefore deserves his shot. The WBC says they have proof that the injury in training was legitimate so the rules are simply being applied.

If you're gonna call him overrated please state FACTS as to why he's over rated and hype. And explain why do you think Diaconu is not :)

Yeah but to say he's ducking him is crazy. Obviously boxing is a business and if there is more money and better fights then you cant fault him. Glen Johnson is way more of a risk and better fighter then Diaconu.

No. Johson is old and shot but has a big resume. Also Johnson is not a big banger.

Diaconu is a much bigger risk than Glen Johnson. ANYONE would rather fight Glen Johnson than Diaconu. For a manager this is a no-brainer.

I'm not Canadian...This is of no practical significance anyway
Diaconu is not hyped on American TV however Dawson is for wins over an average Adamek and a shot Harding....
Many intelligent boxing fans whether from Britian, the US, Canada, or Germany have taken notice to this undefeated #1 Contender from Montreal and studied his fights, his tactics, his intelligence, his power, his excellent reflexes, and come to the conclusion that he will not only test but crush the questionable chin of Dawson...and when this happens nuthuggers just come on here and say I told you so

Fact #1: Dawson was supposed to fight Diaconu in a WBC title eliminator! He pulled out of the fight. He then got a direct title shot against Adamek. Diaconu ended up having to fight Hoye in the title eliminator instead.

Fact #2: Diaconu took care of business and did what was expected of him which is destroy Hoye even tho everyone but their mother on internet forums thought Hoye was going to win that fight.

Fact #3: Dawson-Diaconu was finally schedule after Dawson tried to get out of the fight on several occasions. Dawson was going to make BY FAR the biggest payday of his career.

Fact #4: Diaconu suffered an injury in trainning just a few weeks before the fight. The doctors told him that fighting with this injury could put an end to his career. He was told by the WBC that he wouldn't lose his #1 spot so he decided to pull out.

Fact #5: Since then Dawson and his team has done everything in their power to have Diaconu removed as the mandatory challenger. Th went to the WBC convention in the Philipines, they completely avoided talking about him in the medias and they even camped in front of the WBC's president house to beg him to remove Diaconu from the mandatory position.

If I remember correctly, Dawson was supposed to fight Clinton Woods (or was it Stipe Drews) but ended up fighting Adamek.

And where the hell did you get fact #5? I remember Dawson already signed to fight Diaconu after he deals with Glenn Johnson...

Dawson was supposed to fight Drews who delayed several times only to all together duck Dawson in order to fight the very old and beatable Branco who was given the WBA belt when Tiozzo retired.

Well people on here tend to ignore the facts as to not dillute their warped opinions...Now Dawson has his back against the wall...IF he beats Johnson he will have to defend against Diaconu within 120 days as mandated by the WBC or be rightfully stripped for his cowardess...You can state the facts a million times and huggers on here will ignore them....However if and when Dawson steps up to Diaconu you people will know very clearly why even the "best" would fear Adrian Diaconu....:fire
