ohhhh - you simply dont' know the sport. baldomir beat gatti, who was already done with - that's all. where is he now? see?

listen, pbf has a **** resume except a prime castillo. his best opponents after that were judah (who actually even gave him trouble), over the hill dlh, corrales in '01, and a miniature hatton (6 inch reach advantage, lotsa height, and dont' get me started on cortez).

I just bet against Floyd because I wanted him to lose and the odds were wicked. It wasn't smart but the point is that nutthuggers dont do things like this. I just admire the man's skill and can't believe how much praise lesser fighters get.

I see that nobody really intends to comment point for point on my original thread, so until someone does I will just have to assume there aren't very good arguments to the contrary. Time to catch some sleep and hope i wake up to any kind of counterpoint that can make me question my initial post.

I love it how people talk like Margo had the Cotto win under his belt and Floyd knew this back years ago. ****ing idiots.

Only after the Cotto win has Margo become a big fight to have, did he even have the Clottey win when this crap started? I could be wrong but i don't think so.

Floyd's an arsehat of a guy but its perfectly understandable that he wouldn't have given a rats arse about Margo back then.

If he was still active RIGHT NOW i would say he is ducking Margo if he didn't fight him within the next 9 months, as Margo is clearly going to have the most pulling power in the division and is the top dog now. However this isn't the case, so get over it.

If you were Floyd Mayweather and I came to you with 8 million dollars to fight an unknown fighter, whom you thought was very beatable, would you not take it?

Most boxers don't even make that in their entire careers.

Actually Cotto was all set to fight Margartio before Williams, but williams was the number one contender for the WBO title and Tony had to face Paul first.

Let me ask you this, why would Floyd Mayweather fight an unknown fighter as you put it? He instead fought someone who had a few big names on his resume in previous fights and a few trinkets.

I honestly don't see why this is such a big deal.

How about I come you and say here is 8 million to fight a unknown in which you will get no credit for beating him because he does not have a respected belt

    OR

Here is atleast 8 mil in this fight to fight the WW champ of the world and I get a cut of the next fight against De La Hoya if you pull it off

Yeah, but Floyd had just made $5mill against Judah and had a potential $20 mill fight on the table against Oscar. When Floyd first turned down the offer to fight Margo the fight was proposed for August. However, Oscar and Floyd had a preliminary agreement to fight in Sept.

Once Oscar said he wasn't going to fight until the following May, Floyd decided to fight in Nov. of 2006. The Margo fight was still on the table. However, no way in hell was he going to fight Margo in Nov. and risk ****ing his hands up on Margo's thick skull with a huge payday lined up for that May. Arum made his decision easier by driving up the price for Mayweather's services by continually throwing out that $8mill figure.

I bet you if Margarito didn't have his belt Cotto wouldn't have wanted to fight him and rightfully so I might add, because there would be no point.

I do remember Goosen saying after the Williams win over Tony that they went to Cotto and Cintron over fights and Cintron backed out and Cotto's management balked.

I agree, Cotto should have went after Williams after he beat Margarito.

Like Iv said before but you and other seem to ignore the fact , 8 million was only part of a three fight deal contract buy Arum, which included cotto and hatton as well ..

floyd excepted the 8 million to fight margarito but negotiation regarding the other two fights is what fell through and killed the deal .

It was a all or nothing deal , floyd wanted 7 million for the cotto and Hatton if he should get by margartio , bob would only wanted to give 5 or 6 ..

Floyd then bought out his contract for 750K fought Baldi for 8 , oscar for 15 mill Plus and Hatton for 20 mill , as you can see the number were better by opting not to reup his contract with Arum.

So the DLH fight came and went. He didn't go back to settle unfinished business, did he?

He was point blank scared of the man!
