:rofl It's also safe to assume he didn't! It goes both ways. Now go dig up some proof please. :thumbsup
Floyd made almost 100m last year ... and i'm sure that little ass 8m isn't even on his mind. He also made his career look better when you check the WW lineage and you see how it ended with him and he not anyone else beat the WW champion of the world ("Tata" Baldomir) Arum was mad that Mayweather left his stable and started to talk **** about him after years of praising him as a true boxing talent. Floyd was right saying that Arum just needs a hug and that he's a bitter old man. He's clouded the judgement of many boxing fans ... and hasn't told the whole truth. But who's really going to use their own frame of thinking?
You haters just can't see the truth, no matter how much evidence is presented. Yet here we go again.. MORE EVIDENCE. "Mayweather, who earned more than $25 million for the De La Hoya fight, is the first fighter to help draw consecutive eight-figure live gates." http://www.usatoday.com/sports/boxing/2007-12-05-mayweather-cover_N.htm I think USA today will be a credible enough source for you. "Mayweather's coronation victory was May 5 against Oscar De La Hoya in the richest fight in history, an event that produced $165 million in revenue, 2.4 million pay-per-view buys and a $19 million live gate (from a crowd of 16,700). All are records."
You don't believe it was realisitc for Floyd to earn $20 mill for a fight with Hoya in 2006(even though he made $25 in in 2007), yet you believe it was realisic for Floyd to make $8 mill with no strings attatched against Margo? Here's some proof for the Oscar payday http://www.forbes.com/sportsbusiness/2007/10/25/sports-tiger_woods-biz-sports-cz_kb_1026athletes_slide_17.html?thisSpeed=15000
He also got a piece of the PPV revenue and the gate ... which probably elevated what he made from 25 to 35-40m Oscar got 48m for that fight ... add to that ... Floyd made the same amount of money against Ricky Hatton.
Put in my place !?!? I have evidence and a quote from the horses you have nothing but speculation .. how am I put in my place .. weasle my way out the truth HA .. the truth came from Arum mouth Not me .. get your fact straight. Floyd would only get 10 mill for cotto and Hatton if he beat Margarito fool .. Geez no wonder you don't get the truth you make to complicated just to prove your point ..
Arum had the 8 million guarantee for Margarito. But for him to go to DLH and make a deal there was no guarantee he'd get 20 million. So yea ok he got 25 for DLH, in 2007. But the question remains, how would Arum know this from 2005-2006?
How would he know that he couldn't get $20 mill? Pac is asking for $20 mill to fight Oscar. I don't hear about Arum telling Pac that he's crazy and can't get that type of money. Here's another thing, how is Arum going to offer $8 mill for Margo then only $7 mill a piece for Cotto and Hatton? Only in fantasy land is a fight with Margo worth more than a fight with Hatton or Cotto. Clearly, Arum was being funny with the numbers.
Didn't Hopkins get less than 20 million for Hoya and he was the undisputed middleweight champion? Where is the precedent for Mayweather? Obviously Pacquiao has one but Mayweather certainly didn't. Arum was able to throw 8 million in the pot because Tony was probably accepting significantly less, probably under a million. As far as the Cotto and Hatton fights, Arum had a vested money interest in Cotto. He probably also knew he could not get Cotto or Hatton to accept the low figures Tony was taking. So essentially, that's why the numbers look weird.
What's that supposed to mean? Is there some rule that states the more belts you have, the more money you make? The precedent Mayweather has are the huge ppv figures that Hoya put up in the past. Keep defending Arum despite reality. Let's deal with facts. Fact, Floyd asked for $30 mill for Hoya and Hatton fights. Fact, Arum told Floyd those numbers were unrealistic. Fact, Floyd made $50 mill when he actually fought those two. Now tell me who was being realistic and who was bullshitting?
Dumb post if I've ever seen one.:-( You don't cherry pick the linear champ of the divison. He's the guy everyone in the division would fight and wants a piece of .:deal
wear's your proof it happen this way ? arum has already made his statement wear's your proof something different happened.
What does that have to do with anything? PBF schooled Baldo and won atleast 11 rounds in that fight. Who cares if people left? Just another dumbass post to try an bash PBF that is totally irrelevant.
