When he jumped in there was no action...Hatton was not punching he was pushing and shoving, with his elbows..head...forearms or anything else.....all those dumb ass ****s talking about floyds elbows just gave a blind eye to Hatton doing the same the whole entire fight like so...

Cortez jumped in when there was NO action but wrestling which is not ****ing boxing..HE IS THERE TO BREAK THAT BULL**** UP...If both fighters hands are free on the inside and they are punching then ...you dont break that up and if you try you would probably get caught with a shot yourself..I have never seen a ref jump in the middle of fighters that are fighting with "ACTION" on the inside or anywhere else unless one guy is not punching back and is hurt..then they dive in scaredly not to get hit themselves...let alone a 68 old or so man...:nut:nut:lol::lol:

TooStupid, STFU, 99% of Hatton fans are admitting the best man won. Your guy won and you're still complaining. Dumb ****:patsch

They had no problem when the ref in England let Hatton use UFC rules with the added bonus of full on low blow to be all legal against Tszyu. But oh poor wittle wicky had an elbow pushed in his face and Cortez should be executed now aye ? :rofl

Nobody's complaining on PBF's clear victory. This is just a response to all the Hatton nuthuggers BULL**** THREADs . . . trying to find lame excuses for Hatton's loss. :yep

Now you shut the **** up . . . and open your eyes.

are there any Hatton fans claiming there man would have won if there had been a different ref?? I doubt it (hope not !). Regardless, fighters/fans have a right to complain if the ref sucks. I thought Cortez was ok, the point deduction was harsh.

Dont need to open my eyes thanks....

The only thing bad thing I remember Joe doing was taking a point from Hatton. I thought it was a bad deduction when I saw it. Maybe Cortez thought that if Hatton had landed that blow hard enough, the fight would have to be stopped; so he felt he needed to send Hatton a message.

Cortez almost ruined the fight for me. I was sitting with my girlfriend and she also asked "WTF is this guy doing"? She ain't even a fan of boxing and knew nothing about Hatton or Mayweather before this fight. So yes, I think it could have been a slightly different story with a different ref. Cortez didn't allow Hatton to do ****, he closed him down for almost nothing most of the time and kept Floyd protected. Anyone with eyes can see this. Even my mother said the same thing!

Now, go ahead and call me all the names under the sun for saying that, but I'm calling it how I saw it. Great win by Floyd, regardless, and major respect to Rick for giving him the fight of his life.

I dont believe it would have made a difference, but Joe Cortez was absolutely clueless in there.....

.....both fighters initiated clinches, but there were times when they got in close that Cortez found himself expecting the clinch and breaking up the fighters as they were throwing punches.

Imo a ref should only break up the action when there has been at least two or three seconds of neither fighter attempting to fight out of a clinch......if the fighters are trying to fight themselves out of the clinch, let them do so!

I'll admit, anybody who would have refereed last nights fight would have had their hands full, but Cortez did a horrific job!

.....even up to the last knockdown he was indecisive, it looked like he stepped in to save Hatton, then it looked like he changed his mind, then as Hatton went down again, he waived it off.

Poor Cortez was'nt sure if Hatton hurt enough to stop! :-(
