Is him making the catch weight a ***** move? Yes

But Middleweight is a 160 pound limit, anything from 155-160 is middleweight.

Cotto is a middleweight, this fight is at middleweight and yes even Canelo is a middleweight.

Yeah, and Cruiserweight is at 200lbs limit. Everything from 175.1 to 200 is CW, so if YPH wants to defend his title at 180 from now on he's totally in his right.

If he wants to he can. CW is mostly 2nd tier HW's starving themselves to fight in another weight class because they can't compete with the big bois.

Catchweights blow. The weights just mesn that a guy csn come in up to that point, and yes, it is his prereogative to come in under, but it should not be forced on an opponent.

It is a mw fight and the mw limit should apply, not a made up limit to even the scales. If the mw doesnt apply, the. It shouldnt be a mw fight. But this is boxing.

I think many are missing the point that middleweight is 154-160 so it's a middleweight fight, but the 157 limit is ridiculous and Cotto himself CLEARLY QUALIFIES as a middleweight and on fight night he certainly blows up, he must've been outweighing Mayweather by a lot, so he can't 'make it a fair fight' if he is within the damn range himself. Surprised he hasn't put a rehydration clause in to be honest.

If fighters don't like catchweights, they don't have to agree to them. Once the contract is signed, it's on the fighter.

Cotto is the 3rd or 4th biggest draw in the sport. If you want the big money, big name fight, you're going to concede some in negotiations.

To quote Omar Little: "It's all in the game."

Title fights should not be on catchweight, period.
