I have been saying every since he win over Arce that he wasnt that good, too many close fights were he got the nod, not enough high level guys HYPE.

Vic was faster then him and was outboxing him before the ko.

I gotta admit, I thought Mijares would win a tough decision. Even after this fight, I dont think Mijares is all talk. But Vic wanted this fight and wasnt gonna let his opportunity slip. Much props to Vic

He was not as good as touted. I got into many arguments with amsterfag about this same character as well as Calzaghe and that duck dodger fake ass floyd wannabe.

I knew he was a decent fighter, nothing more.

I argued with Amsterdam for long hours to tell him that Mijares was hype, all to no avail. Same thing that I said about Kessler.

I never used the words "hyped" or "overrated" but still couldnt see what all the fuss was about.

Dont get me wrong, I considered him a very good fighter and picked him to beat Vic, and though I said otherwise I secretly thought he would probably get past Montiel aswell. But he wasnt this unbeatable machine that so many made him out to be.

I tend not to get excited about any fighter though, because eventually odds are you will be disapointed at some point.

A fighter based on hype would be an Amir Khan. Respect to the lad, but he hasn't done anything in the world of Boxing to suggest he'll be a world champion. The guy is on a ridiclious amount of money for fighting c-d level fighters. Politics.

A fighter like Mijares is a world champion, who has beaten former world champions. Who dominated Arce for 12 rounds, and Unified 2 titles at his respective weight. That isn't hype.

Its hype when people start calling a guy that beat one elite fighter and a few good one a top 3 p4p guy...This kid had a gang of hype and was being touted as the next p4p king....There is a difference between being a hype job and being a sh*t fighter. Mijares isnt a **** fight he was just over hyped by alot of people on these boards.

Title of the thread: "...Mijares was hype".

Like I said, Amir Khan is hype because he hasn't accomplished anything as a pro, whereas Mijares has.

The good fight actually would be Z Gorres vs Mijares although Gorres has a bigger pop but both are slick. Gorres' only problem is his crap conditioning which is all trademark of ALA fighters, including AJ Banal, Boom Boom Bautista.

No hype comes from fans and tv networks, fighters dont really hype themsleves...What im saying is Mijares isnt as good as the Hype that was surrounding him...I stand strong by what im saying and the fact that only a few of us said that Vic could or would win this fight only proves what im saying..that my friend is hype...
