We all know David Haye was flattered by his second round stoppage to Enzo Maccarenelli.

Haye is a badly flawed fighter.

Carl Thompson has already exposed him.

Since then Haye has improved - but is still badly flawed.

Haye - was on the verge of coming apart against Jean Marc Mormeck.

Bustled to the ropes in the fourth round and floored the pressure and embrassment on Hayes face said it all - but Haye composed himself and came back with his power to KO Mormeck.

It looked like Haye had finally had his chips - when he was faced with live puncher Enzo Maccarenelli.

But Haye KO'd him 2 rounds - and is now being hailed Heavyweight Savior.

But Enzo failed to perform that night .........here Enzo Calzaghe explains how.

Watch out for the 1.40 mark of the video where Enzo explains the person who beat Enzo was Enzo himself.

Flint, you really need to get over this. Haye has his flaws sure and I don't think he'll be the saviour of the heavyweights (though I can see him making some noise) but the gulf in class between the two was evident to see in the Enzo fight. I would put my money that if they fought ten times Haye would win nine of them.

No gulf in class was evident

Haye took nothing back - he would be destroyed in a war - he's too soft

Maybe Haye would be detroyed in a war, but for that to happen you have to make it a war, eg walking through all of Haye's 1-2 and taking his punches with superior power when your on the inside, only then can you you try and take adantage of his weakness a not stellar chin and possible bad stamina, and that is something that enzo was never capable of doing

There was a gulf in class.

The main differences were the big fight mentality that Haye displayed and Enzo didn't, the speed of the two fighters in that Haye was so much faster and the accuracy of Haye. I'd also mention punching power, but it was hard to compare as Enzo didn't land a real punch.

One thing I agree on mainly - big fight mentality of Haye against the stressed out mind of Enzo.

Haye danced and smiled and sang his way to the ring like Roy Jones Jnr.

Enzo forgot to do his hair and ran to the ring like Linford Chrisite

Well he had a couple with Fragomeni and Mormeck and came through. Haye has his vulnerabilities sure, low left hand, can be put down (his stamina and ring intelligence has improved since the Thompson fight which was years ago).

However, if you think he can be destroyed in a war, someone needs to drag him into a war first and Enzo didn't have the tools. Haye's speed was too much for him, Enzo was flinching every time Haye looked like opening up and was never able to land anything of much significance whereas Haye had no trouble finding the target with big rights two or three times before the final combination. I thought Enzo had a puncher's chance before the fight but the punch is only useful if you have the tools to land it, which is tough when your opponent is harder hitting and faster. IMHO the only way Enzo ever beats Haye is by landing a jackpot shot if the Hayemaker gets careless. Nothing against Enzo who will still be a factor at cruiser and maybe a champ again, just the way I see it.

Mate, no matter how many threads you start about the same subject, the fact that Haye was simply better will remain.

This has become an obsession. Its time to move on.

Haye IS overated on the back of Mormeck and Enzo IMHO but Enzo would never beat Haye, he just hasn't got the skills to turn it into the type of fight he needs to in order to stand a chance.

    Flint seriously man...................

I wanted Enzo to win, im not a fan of Haye.

But seriously Haye proved without a doubt that he is head and shoulders above Maccaranelli.

Enzo Calzaghe is a good trainer but apart from Joe Calzaghe he hasnt done **** really, he has no standout fighters once Joe is gone.

Once again Haye IS better than Enzo:good

Flint your posts on this are getting ridiculous, Haye beat Enzo easily. The reasons can be debated but the fact is Enzo did nothing to deserve a rematch in that fight as the result was so conclusive.

Enzo Calzaghe is a legendary trainer in his own mind only. Look at the advice he was giving Joe against B Hop, his number 2 had to calm him down and get him to focus.

Oh and as for your pm to me Flint ? Who are you trying to say you are ? I cannot send pms till i have 40 posts sorry.

Why are you wasting our time with this ****?

This is an exact repeat of the thread you started the other day which was ridiculous anyway.

Enzo didn't knock himself out with a big right hand did he?

He had his chance and got taken apart, it's over, we have our proof. Haye is the better boxer by an order of quite some magnitude.

ps I aree with Gaz (and probably many others) that Haye is seriously over rated on the back of this win. I like the guy a lot but he isn't the second coming. Mormeck and Enzo are no preparation for Klitscho. Or heavyweights in general.

Enzo was like a rabbit caught in the headlights that night. It's a shame but Haye took advantage and can't really take it away from him.

By the way, these threads on Enzo are getting pretty boring now.
