That reminds me - I traced the topic that was said in from the brit forum to the lounge. Someone commented it was the gayest thread they had ever read!
Enzo C's record speaks for itself. You don't have a stable like that accidentally. Enzo M's record also speaks for itself. I openly hate on Enzo when needed but people got short memory. Enzo intended on taking the title from long time champ Nelson! He then intended on unifying versus linear champ Haye. He beat the best British cruiser on paper - Hobson. He beat former solid champs - Braiwaithe and Dominguez. His WBU stint was bollocks due to the title but the competition was good enough all considering. Enzo himself is a ballsy fighter who has made good moves in boxing. Give him credit, he did get up when he could have quit. He had to fight being badly hurt. He really tried to recover and a split second longer he may have been able to go on. How many people get up from 1 Haye punch? let alone 2 huge ones and a 10 punch barrage!!! Credit where credit is due.
While anything can happen in a prize fight somethings are just to obvious such as PBF beating Hatton and Haye stopping Maccarinelli.
Enzo`s fighters have had a good year but i dont believe for a minute this has been translated across or even due to Enzo`s skills as a trainer. The reality is Ree`s got a bly and if Nelson had fought Enzo it would have been a close UD for Nelson. So far Enzo Mac has fallen, Ree`s WILL loose his title some time this year and Joe may even loose to Hopkins.
You rated M'Baye Scurla though and when he nearly fought Earl you thought Earl was going to get owned and said you seen fights of M'Baye In his kickboxer days. Rees will lose soon but not to Kotelnik anyway. It was a good win for Gav considering he was stuck In 6 rounders and M'Baye was WBA champ going the distance with the likes of Harris. Enzo's confidence and mentality helped Rees win that fight no doubt.
M'Baye was awful. Losing his title to Ree's was always on the cards with that guy. Ree's gets alot of bad press but he won fair and well. I would still have him underdog against Kotelink but I would not be surprised if he managed to retain his belt.
Everyone thought Rees was going to get ko'ed though because he's small and only fought 6 rounders despite M'Baye being exposed as awful. Kotelnik's awful too so Rees will be WBA champ for a while. It's because he's 5ft 3 he's underestimated and will be looked at as an easy target but It's awkward to hit down on his chin at him cleanly so he'll be tough for many 10 stone fighters except guys like Witter and Hatton who will just batter him around the ring.
No question. I watced M`Bayes career on Eurosport when he was undefeated prior to his loss to Harris and he looked like he might make some noise. He certainly had to tools to beat a guy like Ree`s but he simply didnt let his hands go. That loss was shocking to most.I dont think his finished but his got a tremendous amount of ground to regain after spending all those years working his way into a title shot.
Yep he always looked like he had real potential but failed to really impress when it mattered. Obviously I was shocked at the Ree's loss but M'Baye has always looked the type to do that. M'Baye is not finished but he needs to focus or risk getting put out to graze.
When he lost to Harris i assumed he found his level. But the Ree`s loss is an unexplainable aberation. He literally did NOTHING.Its was as if the fight was fixed.
Yep. I would hate for it to be a fix. That would rip open every fight we get to see. If that fight was a fix who knows what else last year was too. I just think he let his mind slip and paid the price. Or maybe he seriously underestimated Ree's and his own ability. Who knows. Is he up against Herman next?
I havent got a clue, Herman might be a good strart as its about time his started mixing in better class. His got some decent fundamentals but his been fighting nobodies for quite some time.
I have to disagree. I'm not saying Enzo is God but he is a very good coach. I've seen enough footage to see that Enzo trains his fighters hard and works on alot of skill. Calzaghes en route to legendary status. Enzo would beat Nelson. Rees pulled a huge upset. Let's not forget his prospects and even guys like Pryce. You don't accidentally make a stable like Enzo C's.
You mean SN would want a moderately talented undefeated fighter who doesn't sell tickets to be a champion at light welter? Why would that be? :?
