    ''We know that Jones would absolutely destroy Joe, so we declined the fight. Jones punches with speed, power and intent. So every time Joe would slap, Jones would throw and land sweetly, with either the left hook or straight right, and rock my son's head back to newbridge. Common sense... Jones whoops my son for 8 rounds, then Joe gets destroyed with a barrage of 7 punch combo's by Roy in the ninth. Joe was shitting his pants, and Roy was losing interest fighting a protected european fighter who slaps his way to victory against nobody's.''

    Some of those guys were far from mice. Roy just made them look like mice. Toney and Hopkins were mice when they were younger now? Tell you what. Make a highlight video of Joe beating lesser guys like that and lets compare the skills shown.

    i think he's right. jones is so concerned about getting hit these days he expends a lot of energy reacting to feints, moving about the ring, and staying poised to throw the perfect counter. all the while he's getting hit (which is inevitable vs calzaghe and given his somewhat diminished reflexes) and he's throwing his own punches so sporadically and almost pulling punches out of fear. i think though jones has slipped much of his problem is mental.

    Even worse, he landed more on him then Tarver or Johnson and still went 12 rounds. Johnson got him out in 9 I believe and Tarver starched him in 1 right?

    Why compare opponents they have fought, when we can rewatch Calzaghe hip shake around Jone's combo's and dismantle him with his daster more fluid hands?

    Put Calzaghe in Jones' boots - could he acheive what Roy did? NO

    Put Jones in Calzaghe's boots - could he acheive what Joe did? YES, easily

    Calzaghe has the unbeaten record, Jones just took the beating of a lifetime, so no, Jones in his own career falls short of Calzaghes.

    Calzaghe is the better boxer, and the better athlete, case and point weekend just gone.

    I take it as a shot Calzaghe, proving he is light years ahead of Jones who produced the old adage ''great fighters have 1 last great performance'' and teh fact Jones was showing heart and hanging in there, proved how much it meant to him.

    Calzaghe = legend ,HOF and ATG

    Jones = HOF

    Enzo's a wank, he talks as if Joe punches like Tyson and people are afraid of him. Joe couldn't crack an egg with those brittle hands.

    Bollocks.

    And even though you're the worst kind of a nuthugger, I'll try to explain why.

    Most of the Calzaghe fans think Bernard's performance vs Joe was pathetic (hugging, headbutts, faking pain off low blows, not throwing punches). You can hardly call that a "great" performance.

    Plus, Hopkins had a great performance vs Trinidad back in 2001, when he was really in his prime. According to you, Hopkins is in his prime for the last 8 years, which means he was in his prime at age 35 all the way to age 43. Good call. :verysad
