As things stand, Haye whilst having a great chance to capture a belt at HW has more possibilties of having the same impact as Herbie Hide than Lennox Lewis when he moves up. His flaws are there for all to see. It doesn't matter how great chin you may have, but been hit flush repeatedly is only going to end one way. IMO, the only trainer that could maximise Haye's potential is Enzo Calzaghe. More emphasis on building up stamina, footwork, versatility and as priority no.1, defense. This may involve some ruptions as far as Frank Warren is concern, but this move has to be made.

By the looks of it, according to many here, Enzo would be the perfect coach - full-stop -

Not with that chin-blocking defense he's trying to get Haye to perfect he isn't. If he only brought that left up instead of trying to mop the floor with it, he'd be less vulnerable and could fire the jab off quicker:-(

Enzo is a fantastic trainer just look at what he has done with Maccarinelli.

Absolutely, he looks like Sugar Ray Leonard now. In all seriousness what has he done with Enzo? Just because he uses a jab and beats non-entities, somehow that makes Enzo Calzaghe a great trainer. Enzo looks awkward.

I guess that's the point. To get as limited a boxer as Enzo Mac (FWC belt holder) as far as he has done speaks volumes. How effective Enzo Calzaghe is as a trainer is limited by the raw materials he has to begin with. Look at his son and David Haye has some great assets as a fighter...

Enzo is a bit like Billy Graham.Just another average trainer with a great fighter whom his made his name off.I gurantee you once Enzo is done we wont here anything from him again. The same goes for Billy.

I don't think Enzo would suit Haye particularly well. I do think, however, that Floyd Sr. could work wonders with him. Haye has a horrible habit of dropping his hands anyway, and the defensive style Mayweather teaches incorporates that into the defense itself. Anything that helps Haye get hit less will help him. I see Enzo as more of an offensive mastermind, but his fighters tend to have leaky defenses. Haye's offense ain't broke - it's his defense that needs major work, especially with his chin.

Yeah, good point:thumbsup My only concern is would be whether Haye and Floyd Sr would understand one another......
