Enzo Craparinelli vs Tony Bellend

Certainly would not fork out on ppv to watch it

 

I remember a time when Tony Bellew used to post here, along with Frankie Gavin, I think it was around the time they were training with Anthony Farnell.

it's not hard to see why they stopped.

 

Prime for prime without a long winded explanation styles make fights and all that I think Enzo catch’s and stops him mid to late rounds .... no bias like them both

 

Enzo fought at a much better level early on in his career. It was only once he started getting wild a few fights after the Haye fight when he started to get bingoed.

Half of it was to winging shots and fighting with no defence, when he went back to his boxing whilst vulnerable by that point he was still skillful.

I'd back Enzo over Bellew.

 

Bellew, like everyone from the Rotunda has very good basics. He won rounds against Usyk. Usyk was sussing him out but he was certainly not having fun in there for the first 5/6 rounds. You don’t do that if you’re not a decent boxer. He also had a left hook that’s was a massive danger for anyone. Look at his ko of Makabu and Dickinson in the amateurs and it’s quite frightening.

In my opinion it’d be a good fight with both landing good shots going into the middle rounds. I’d then fancy Bellew to catch Enzo in the mid to late rounds. Enzo’s chin would let him down in a fight I’d have looked forward to.

 

There's negative comments and then there's down right disrespect for boxers who put their health on the line for our entertainment every time they stepped through the ropes.

Some of the KO's Enzo Mac suffered have likely took years off him. I actually found Enzo to be a brave and entertaining watch if obviously limited.

I get the whole shtick with Bellew as well but, there's no denying he over achieved in the end and played a smart hand throughout his latter career. It's his somewhat challenging persona that earnt him a truck load of PPV lolly.

 

I agree. This is nothing new on here though, as you know. It has always been rife since I’ve been reading. People seem to be highly sensitive at the moment.

 

I've watched both these guys more than once in the flesh. Brave, big hearted lads both. Pointing out flaws is fine. Being disrespectful is simply unacceptable.
Neither Maccarinelli nor Bellew is a Christiano Ronaldo or Wilf Zaha, squealing and wriggling for no reason other than to cheat the paying public of a fair result.
There is a basic standard of respect and decency. If you wouldn't say it to them personally, keep your trap shut.

I'd say that it's more for money, career mobility, glory and status. I'm sure most boxing fans do recognise that it takes a number of attributes to get in the ring; bravery, mettle, etc. Personally, I think that is takes a certain disregard for your own health. Nobody who wants to optimise their wellbeing willingly gets hit in the head countless times over the course of years.

It's a bit odd for people to dismiss this thread, but the "Please leave Anthony Bellew alone" thread is still going strong without a single complaint, and the nature of this OP is not too dissimilar to the content within that thread.

Although Bellew does not deserve malicious abuse, he asks for the **** to be taken out of him just about every time he appears anywhere. The Sky Sports customer and pay-per-view mug will naturally have something to say about someone like Bellew, who is clearly carried away with himself, contradicts himself, spouts utter hogwash, insufferably plays up the hard man act, and the rest. I doubt Bellew cares, because if he did, he wouldn't be so prolific in his arse-clownery.

 

Phrased properly, this would make a good thread and a thrilling fight. You really think it would go the distance ?
I reckon this would be over in four or five rounds of a total gunfight. When the smoke clears, Bellew is still standing. He may well have to get off the deck himself though.

 

I agree 100%. That’s why you’ll never see me writing things like that.

I liked both fighters. Bellew, despite being a bit of a hypocrite is alright in my opinion except when promoting fights.

I’m just pointing out heightened sensitivity by posters lately. As Safin said there’s a massive multi page thread that’s been going on months about Bellew with constant slating of his ability and personality. No one bats an eye lid to that. All of a sudden anyone speaking I’ll of Joshua/Bellew/whoever is labelled a child etc and asked about their accomplishments in boxing. Seems quite a gear change that’s all.

 

Yes HJ. Fascinating point. I don't even know why I clicked on the OP. I usually just scroll past stuff like the ones you have mentioned.

 

Just seems weird to dig out Enzo and start mocking him for his appearance. Some boxers have a way about them that makes them unlikeable but Enzo always seems like a really nice bloke, the fact that he was in tears after his last fight says a lot about what this sport meant to him. For what it's worth they'd probably never fight each other, I remember Bellew being devastated for Enzo with the way he went out, pretty certain they're mates.

 

Certainly, Braithwaite and Dominguez had been genuine world champions. With Bellew I’d compare those wins to perhaps Cleverly, Masternak and Isaac Chilemba. I think they are similar in a lot of regards, with Bellew just holding the slight trump card with the Makubu win. Not sure how much credit you give him for the Haye fights, which I would in reality say they were simply PPVs with two name fighters for the fans. That said, Bellew had been an underdog going in.

 

They've sparred each other many times and get on well.
