Yes Maccarinelli suffered a Knockout that was not necessary at all and the Referee made a horrible decision to let him continue after the first vicious Knockdown.

Of course we wish Enzo the best to recover well but cant we also give some credit to Frenkel. Was a nice performance for his first real test.

This 'kid' is 25 years old made all his fights in Germany and came to Britain, in Enzos backyard, to fight for the Euro Title. Is now 23-0 with 18 Knockouts.

He should improve his defense/stamina and could make some noise in the cruisers. Maybe the hardest puncher in the Cruiserweight as of right now.

    Just throwing it out there.

    Poor Enzo.

Once again, his disgraceful mandible has let him down.

My props to young Frenkel. I didn't expect him to win.

I'd say Lebedev and Chakhkiev are the hardest hitters at CW. Huck is a good hitter but not quite the level of those two imo.

Enzo was winning by a few rounds at the time IMO but it was a huge killer left hook and it should have ended right there, the ref put Enzo in serious danger allowing the fight to continue.

Lebedev hits harder for sure. Frenkel can bang though and is very accurate and has good timing.
It was his first 12 rounder too, so he didn´t know how to pacehimself perfectly.
Before the fight his trainer, Wegener who is also training Huck and Abraham, said Frenkel isn´t ready for someone like Macca yet and that he isn´t confident in his boy winning at all. He normally never says such things. IMO this makes the fight even more impressive.
Frenkel has a pretty good defence, he was very slick at times yesterday but he needs to tighten his guard a bit. Macca landed nearly nothing on him and what he landed was never flush.
Frenkel has all the tools and IMO is the best prospect Sauerland has at the moments and one of the best prospects above mw.
I said so as early as a year ago that he is the future of the division. He didn´t let me down. :happy
And he is a very likable kid, unlike Huck.
Also training with Huck, Cunningham, Alexeev and the other cw and hw of Sauerland helps him a lot I think.

That was a close fight. Macca landed nearly nothing while Frenkel landed like everything when he threw. Clear effective punching over ineffective aggressiveness.
3-2-1 Frenkel or 3-3 was more likely than "a couple of rounds for Macca". Learn to score a fight. 4-2 for Macca was a possibility considering the fight was in England.

You think Frenkel will have more success than Chakhkiev? Both very exciting guys. Have they announced the CW super 6 yet? I hope Frenkel is in it now although by the sounds of it Sauerland may not want that.

I agree, it reminds me of the left hook Morrison took Ruddock down with (that was quite a bit harder but still), same duck under attack coming up with full swing on the chin. Same camera angle too and same conclusion... The guy got up against all odds but in no condition to continue (although Razor looked a little better) and then getting slaughtered.

Hope Enzo does the right thing and retires.
