He apparently fights Ovill McKenzie for the LHW Commonwealth Championship. (source bscene)

But wasn't Maccarinelli caught on PEDs a while ago?!? Or doesn't any of that count anymore, like with Peterson lately? :blood
And does that mean he (if he wins) might be Cleverly's next opponent if he manages to beat "world class opponent" Uzelkov in the main event?

Please tell me this is all just a bad dream.

He was caught using a banned substance yes, not a PED though.

6 month ban. It looks fairly clear Wazzla is lining him up vs Clev although Ovill will probably stop him as his chin is awful and Ovil can bang. Ovill will then get a shot against Clev.

Yes you can put in your body pretty much whatever you like and if you get caught nothing much will happen. infact you can pack your gloves with plaster, risk peoples health and lives and a year later you can come back and fight for world titles.

but if you are Dereck Chisora and stupidly roll around the floor at a post fight presser the BBBofC want to make an example out of you and stop you from earning a living indefinately, Adam Smith sits on Ringside with a serious face repeating words like "this damages boxing" and there are some public calls for lifetime bans.

So no this is not a bad dream, this is sadly the state of boxing in 2012.

It was a mild stimulant in a supplement. Enzo claims to have taken it without knowing that there was anything banned in it. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, it's nothing like the deliberate use of steroids; and Enzo has done his six-month suspension for it.

"I purchased a product called Dexaprine that contained this banned substance from a combat magazine. The advert stated that it was an approved substance and I checked the ingredients which had no reference to any banned substance that I was aware of. In fact, it also stated that it was suitable for athletes.

I have since found out that this ‘fat burner’ contained a substance and consequently I failed a dope test, albeit with a very low reading.

I wish to state that this substance was in no way used to gain any advantage in the ring or enhance my performance and whilst I appreciate that it may look that way, I would certainly never cheat or cut corners in my preparation."

    Enzo Maccarinelli vs Ovill McKenzie
    Frankie Gavin vs Junior Witter

I think that's a good undercard actually, and **** it, if Enzo wins, I will be happy for him to get a shot.

I doubt he gets any real pleasure and satisfaction in fighting these mighty opponents - it's how FW works and always has.

Calzaghe, Hatton, Burns, Cleverly is the latest off the FW system.

    Ovil KO inside 3 rounds.

I'll be able to retire at the age of 20 with my winnings.

Maybe? I'm not sure though, I watch some interviews of him and get the impression he's quite happy fighting rubbish opponents, He's already talking about retirement which isn't a good sign. He even has the nerve to call himself ''World Champion'' in interviews. Maybe Im wrong but that's the impression I get?

Nathan Cleverly has declared his loyalty to Frank ****** and trusts his promoter will deliver him a ‘mega fight’ in 2013.

European super-middleweight champion James DeGale this week joined Hennessy Sports after leaving ******’s stable, while Commonwealth light-heavyweight king Tony Bellew split acrimoniously from the veteran promoter in May.

However, Cleverly, who hold the WBO portion of the world light-heavyweight title, insists he will not be following them, despite a frustrating year in which his hopes for a unification fight have not materialised.

Staying put: Nathan Cleverly (centre) remains loyal to Frank ****** (right)
‘It has been annoying not getting the big names,’ said Cleverly, who defends his title against Vyacheslav Uzelkov on October 27 in Cardiff.

He told Sportsmail: ‘Frank has worked really hard for me, trying to make fights with Beibut Shumenov and Bernard Hopkins. With Shumenov, he didn’t want to come to the UK but couldn’t get a TV deal in the States and with Hopkins we actually had a verbal agreement, despite what he says about not being interested in a fight.

‘A lot has been going on, but it has fallen through for no fault of our own. That is frustrating and I can sense the fans getting inpatient for me to fight a big name, and I want to fight the big names, but I feel this year has been the calm before the storm in some ways because when that big, mega fight comes in 2013 there will be a succession of them. It is a case of getting through these early days as a world champion before the superfights.

Reigning champion: Cleverly defends his world title in Wales on October 27
‘Frank and I have spoken about it and he feels next year will be a big year for me.’
Cleverly added: ‘There has never been any doubt about me staying with Frank. He’s the best in the business. I have been very loyal to Frank since I turned professional and I have been under his promotional banner for years.

‘He has been good, given me tough fights, built me up. I owe him a lot. He took me to a world title very quickly. For me, he’s been great. I have stayed loyal to him since day one and he has stayed loyal to me. It is a good working relationship.

‘I think some fighters can get ahead of themselves and think they are superstars before they actually are.’

I agree about Cleverly and tough fights.

I'm not saying he doesn't want them or is scared, but he's certainly in no rush.

I guess the guarantee with Allegedly is that you'll probably earn reasonable money and retire with your health intact, because you've not had to take more than your fair share of hard fights on a regular basis.

The frustrating thing with Cleverly is that he's got the natural ability to develop and be in those fights. Not saying he'd win any or many of them, but he's more than capable of hanging in the top 5 of the division, subject to making some important changes.

What's really annoying though is that they talk about ''we had a deal with so and so...'' or ''he wanted too much money....''.

Well, ok then, but at least deliver the next best available opponent. Karpency wasn't in the top 100 and would probably have lost to the Tony Oakey that Cleverly dominated with ease... and this guy doesn't appear to be anything special.

I refuse to believe that Froch turned down £1m for this fight, irrespective of weight. I know there's the ''Froch is happy at 168'' argument, but I'm sure he'd be more than happy to face Cleverly for that kinda money. He's a smart man, after all.

As for Ovil vs Enzo, the money has to be on Ovil KO1. I might take a slightly less risky option and go with rounds 1-3 on a spread. There's simply no way that he's seeing the middle rounds. Ovil will be able to take Enzo's pawing shots, and as a fast starter will fancy his chances of getting this one done and dusted early.

The bookies might look at his record and think ''Oh, he's ****ing ****, make Enzo the favourite''.

They'll take a bath if they do. Like when Sportingbet had Danny Williams at 3/1 to be stopped by Charr. By fight time he was 1/5 to get chinned.

    Burns/Mitchell vs Harrison

    Cleverly vs Enzo/Ovil

    How can anyone support this?

People will, that's the problem, It's a scary thought but there are mentalists out there that really do think that Cleverly is a hero world champion and will pay for this **** out of pure love and nuthuggery.

Murder, death, kill. Its the only solution.

Remember when Wazza put Appleby in with that Ghanaian to set up a fight with Burns but Appleby lost and the Ghanaian got the shot. I can see the exactly same thing happening with the Enzo fight.
